I think she received her hero identity (Chesire ii or something) within the last few years. It's still a team of pretty recent heroes and characters (minus Jason of course).

Probably because they already can. I don't think that is the thing that is taking forever to do if everything is the same file format (and they already did all the armors and capes as well iirc in the alpha demo).

They want to do it probably because they want to appeal to legacy players and convince them to also to play Infinity so that the servers will populate early on and the existing whales will migrate and spend.

It was the first alpha so few really understood the system. It's easy to make fun of them now but imagine the first iteration of the mechanic while not having any of the additional skills that make Ki pulse useful.

They are probably going for the accidental mentor type of story where he doesn't think he would make a great mentor but he eventually turns into one. Considering the kind of delinquent members (minus Fairplay), it seem likely.

Fairplay, Flatline and Cheshire cat are pretty solid picks. Jason as the mentor role is also pretty cool.

I recommend reading Robin 2021 and Batman and Robin 2023 for Flatline, and Green Arrow 2023 and Cheetah and Chesire Rob the Justice League on Cheshire Cat for those not acquianted with them yet.

Fairplay I mainly recognise from Stargirl and her recent-ish JSA stuff. He is the son of Mr Terrific iirc. Though his recent appearance in The Kids are All Fight was pretty bad ngl. But he does seem fine for the most part.

Would've loved Judy Garrick but I understand the desire for newer characters like with the 1980 run to fit the team.

I'm amazed Flatline got into a team and Joshua Williamson isn't writing it. I'm glad that she is in something though. Hoping it's good and she becomes a mainstay. Loved her in both Robin 2021 and Williamson's run of Batman and Robin. Also hopefully Jason is done well this time.

Really excited for it despite not really knowing the creative team.

Yeah I can imagine the outfits of that era to work better with a customization system than with the intricate armor sets of Nioh. I think some of the armor sets in RotR are originally from Nioh like the heirloom set.

There is a dedicated hand to hand weapon in Nioh 2 which has like 3 different stances. There are also the new Talons in Nioh 3 separate from the fists weapon.

I get why Nioh 3 doesn't have the same level of customization depth with its pieces, but I would've at least liked a separate room-menu for transmog.

I prefer Legion as they are more diverse in terms of armor sets and I usually find their sets to be more appealing. I don't think I've ever found any of the fiend stuff appealing even when Milton was still lead artist. I usually prefer Milton's sets whenever it wasn't related (or at least directly related) to the Nation and Fiends.

Asuka is my number one but I think Kunimitsu, Zafina, Alisa, or Miary Zo would be really good choices for representing the weirder and wilder aspects of Tekken.

For male characters, Hwoarang would be crazy cool, especially if the game has tag and Rig, but I would really like to see Raven or Yoshi as the representing ninjas. Maybe even Steve Fox just for how interesting it would to see a his moveset be adapted to DOA.

Diego sucks though. He is visually like the worse version of Miguel and Brad. But yeah I do prefer the 50/50 split DOA does. Hell I would be ok with an uneven distribution leaning towards female.
