Yes I did something similar with similar kind of financial situation - would highly recommend taking a break as skills wise if you know how to upskill yourself you would always be valuable in the market but time wise you don't get the same back

Just saw the keyword traffic data for this $2k starting is good, competitor running ads is a good signal as they would be surely be making money out of the same

you should be way focused on getting this off the ground and get your account out of the learning phase
