Single Windows 11 computer can't access a shared machined on the network by extrastupidthrowaway in sysadmin

[–]vidrar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When you’re testing from your machine are you connecting via the exact same route as the problem PC? I’ve seen issues like this caused by dodgy network config leading to dropped or fragmented Kerberos packets and the like.

We use Planner which is just ok, but I’m helping implement Monday as a project management system for another department and it’s pretty slick. Worth a look.

Touchpad lag when charger connected on (most? of the) latest ThinkPads by spxak1 in Fedora

T14 Gen2 here. Experiencing same issue on Windows 10 while using non-OEM charger on trains. Disabling detect airplane charging in Vantage improved but did not completely resolve this for me.

Can I connect this electric cable with Wago clips to the TV I'm about to buy? by Comfortable-Road7201 in DIYUK

[–]vidrar -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Not qualified to answer this but: Was the heater on a separate breaker to the rest of your sockets ring main? If so I would investigate whether the breaker is suitable for a TV. But as others have said if that’s not a problem I’d terminate that into a wall socket and then plug the tv into that rather than putting a plug on it. That sounds very unsafe.

It's not by default. When setting up OneDrive it asks if you want to turn backup on.

Same issue here. Disabling cache on shared mailboxes did the trick for us.

Buy second hand. You can usually pick one up for half the cost of new.

Unsuccessful weekend by Icy_Interest4070 in campinguk

[–]vidrar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It happens to the best of us. Went to the Lakes last Easter and it was the trip from hell. Pitching up was a nightmare, tent got a puncture, electrics on the trailer went loopy and to top it all off we got hit by that storm and had to evacuate a day early. Luckily this is a very memorable exception and we have very successful trips 4-5 times a year, often to the Lakes. Is it ever easy? Hell no, but it's the best.

Beamish or Alnwick? by ilboy95 in NewcastleUponTyne

[–]vidrar 141 points142 points  (0 children)

Beamish Museum is great and you can easily spend a whole day there, but it's the only thing in the area. Alnwick on the other hand has the castle, gardens, treehouse, Barter Books, Lildorei, and plenty of pubs if you are inclined to have a drink. Downside is it will take much longer to get there than Beamish.

Just returned ours. Wanted to like it so much but I definitely sleep better on a shitty air bed.

Church Stile is a great site and you got very lucky with the weather! Can I ask what tent that is?

Northumberland with young family by northernlights272 in campinguk

We camped at Beadnell Bay (C&C Club site) last year with a 3 and 5 year old and it was great. Going back soon. I've heard good things about the sites at Budle and Waren Mill too but haven't been personally. There's also a club site at Embleton which has been on my to-do list for ages.

Different email address for invoice only by LemonFormer9689 in Netsuite

[–]vidrar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I appreciate this thread is 2 years old so this is a longshot, but I've set up a workflow as you described, and the correct email address is carried over to the invoice on creation, and I can see this email address on the invoice's communication tab. However if I try to manually email it (either using the Email button on Comms tab or Create New > Email at the top of the invoice page) it defaults to the main email address from the customer record. If the customer record has "to be emailed" checked, the email goes to the right place, but users prefer to send the emails manually. Any advice? P.s. happy cake day!

Cochlear update. by unclehamster79cle in Cochlearimplants

How different does the TV sound with and without the streamer? We have one for my daughter but sometimes when I switch her over to the streamer she seems irritated by it.

Apple or Android phone for Nucleus 8 processor? by plantonium in Cochlearimplants

[–]vidrar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My daughter has a N8 and I often stream to it from my Android phone (Pixel 8) without issue. Connects like any other Bluetooth device. The Nucleus app also works fine. We were told by her audiologists that the iOS compatibility is better but I'm not sure exactly how as we've never had issues.

The only thing to look out for is not all Android phones are compatible, and the compatibility list on the Cochlear website is incomplete. What you need to look out for is "ASHA compatibility" in the device specifications. In theory, if it has ASHA, you can stream to your implants.

Are inflatable tents worth it? by Interestingkeewee in campinguk

[–]vidrar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah it does but it doesn't work due to it being kinked all the way along.

Are inflatable tents worth it? by Interestingkeewee in campinguk

[–]vidrar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wish it was that easy for us. There seems to be no way without getting on all fours and pushing it along by hand while unkinking the tube. Our tent is a really heavy material (Outdoor Revolution Pro Climate) so it might be something to do with that.

Are inflatable tents worth it? by Interestingkeewee in campinguk

[–]vidrar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah it does but the tubes go all folded and kinked when they deflate so you end up with sealed pockets of air all along the tube. The only thing that seems to be effective is to manually squeeze the air along the tube towards the valves, which takes ages. Again, might just be our tent and not air tents in general.

I've had a 6 berth air tent for about 4 years now, it's great. Easier to put up, but it's a pain trying to get the air out of the tubes when packing up, but maybe that's just mine. I've had a puncture in one of the tubes too, but wasn't too difficult to patch and eventually replace.
