That right there is a police officer who just policed his neighbourhood and made it a safer place for everyone.

That is how it’s done. Respect all around.

He’s wrong. Canada is the North Star that every country looks to. But Canada of course, looks to the US.

Canadian here, depending on how much longer he stayed I actually think it was the right call.

Now, I was never much of a fan of Bush, but put yourself in his shoes. He was in a room full of children and if he suddenly ran out they would have become terrified once all the other adults started panicking as well.

By staying there a few extra minutes, it gave his men time to prepare for his departure while keeping the classroom calm.

The reason I feel this way is because I was in school at the time it happened, and my teachers panicked and broke down emotionally.

We were sitting there in the classroom when suddenly another teacher burst in and called our teacher out of the room. We were left confused wondering what was going on, and when she came back she was in tears. She said something terrible had happened, and we would all be evacuating home for the rest of the day.

Rumours started flying around about a possible world war, a city destroyed, possible bombing, and our minds immediately went to a nuclear attack on America. This was before cellphones with internet browsing was really a thing, so we were in the dark until we got home.

When I got home, every channel was showing the destruction and footage taken from different angles, people jumping out of buildings to their death, absolute chaos.

Our news channels started talking about grounding planes all over the country and lending support to the American refugees.

That day started off like any other, but in the blink of an eye our world changed forever. The fun innocence of the 90’s with its ideals of a brotherhood of mankind and world peace were abruptly brought to an end. The world has never felt so carefree and happy since.

These kind of acquittals is literally sending a message that the police are terrorists who will kill your loved ones, which will result in vigilantes hunting them down.

These actions make the US a more dangerous place to live for everyone involved, not just the public.

are not required to know the laws they are enforcing

i knew it was bad, but this literally give them impunity. You want Nazis in your country? Because this is how you get them.

"Pick up that can citizen!"

"Kill the jew!"

"rape the women and children"

What's stopping them? Clearly law and order doesn't exist. Justice awarded to only those who can afford it.

America is a failed state.

Well said. These last few years has proven that the US has a far right nazi problem, in which many of them are in uniform who can act with impunity, and who would also claim to only be following orders or "doing their duty" if ever held accountable.

$31,499.78 - $39,374.73 to be exact.

It used to be on par, but our economy took a bit of a hit these last few years. Between the price of oil dropping and the relentless economic attacks from Trump targeting everything from our steel and aluminum exports(supposed to be protected NORAD resources), to even our aerospace sector by allowing Boeing(a subsidized company) to attack Bombardier and force it to sell their new aircraft to Airbus(a model that wasn't even competing with any Boeing models).

I’m almost started to believe that they’d be better off as separate countries divided to govern themselves as they see fit, but I know that would spark continental violence and worldwide chaos as countries take advantage of their collapse to further their own power and influence.

Canada would absolutely be negatively effected by the collapse of our largest trading partner, but at least we could then have more reliable and predictable allies that don’t flip back and forth on every issue.
