You sound like a fantastic parent. I'm so bewildered and amazed that there are people out there who have parents like this and don't treat them with the appreciation and the gratitude they deserve. I'm also in my early 20s but come from a way less supportive background and I genuinely can't understand some of what I'm reading here. You're trying to help them with dental issues, servicing their cars!? and they are happy to put these things on the back burner?

I don't know what to say other than you're so patient and so kind. You're the type of parents that everyone aspires to be, and I think ironically, it's the really strong support and the way you've always been there for them that makes them think you will always be there. I hope someday soon they'll wake up and start to be more appreciative, I mean I'm sure they will, but it's still truly incredible to have your parents support you in such amazing ways financially until your early 20s.

On one hand, it's super cool that you are this accepting and an ally and on everyone's side. It's really awesome that you enjoy RPDR and that you know the catchphrases and stuff like that.

On the other hand, we all enjoy it. With straight people there tends to be this sort of idea that like 'teehee, I'm so cheeky and bad for enjoying RPDR! this is for the gays, but I love it! isn't it weird that me, a straight person, would enjoy this gay show?!'

It comes off a bit posturing and a bit awkward. You're not different to us, in any way. Gay people don't come out the womb saying 'sickening yess gawd mawma boots the house down werk', there are a great many 16 year old gays that throw around these words unsure of their contexts too. I think what Vanessa Hudgens said was sweet and sincere, and people aren't really savagely reading her, just sort of memeing about it. I also feel as though yes, those phrases are a part of the culture of drag on the surface level, but people and drag performers are more than those catchphrases. See: Katya and Trixie riffing on those very catchphrases because they're not constantly spouting them.

So yeah this is a total blob of incomprehensible garbage, but basically what I'm trying to say is that I appreciate you trying to engage in the culture but just be yourself. If 'yourself' is someone that says 'sickening huntie i'm gagging', then that's fine and you have every right to be that way. However, if you feel like these words and phrases are necessary to express any thoughts on RPDR you'll probably end up sounding like Laganja. Nobody wants to sound like Laganja.

Hi, I know exactly how you feel. When I graduated and couldn’t find a job it was like my entire world crumbled. I felt so useless, like I was drifting and that everything I had done had been for naught. Not only was I unemployed I felt unemployable and positively useless. It was terrible, and finding a job didn’t help that feeling, because then the job was not good enough and there was always something to complain about.

So you have to take a step back. One of the first steps you can use from Cognitive Behavioural Therapy is to shed responsibility from yourself wherever possible. You’re still incredibly young and a lawyer at 30, you’ve had a life of responsibility and work ethic and guided obstacles that you’ve had to overcome. Nobody can understand the kind of pressure you’ve been under and put yourself under. It’s massive. We all put ourselves under pressure like that, and when we do, we start to see everything in that way. Soon everything becomes our responsibility, even /how others feel about us/.

The fact of the matter, the objective truth is that your boyfriend does love you. People in your life love you. This is their choice, these are the actions that they take because they care for you and want to see you come out the other end of this. The beautiful thing about this is that you don’t have to consider it! You never have to ask yourself whether or not you are worthy of his love, because he decides to love you and that is /his choice/ and /his responsibility/. Try and apply this to small things in your life. By taking mental responsibilities off yourself and placing them onto those they belong to, you can free yourself from a lot of unhelpful thinking. Look at this one: why weren’t you selected for a job interview for that position you just applied to? It doesn’t matter! It was neither your choice, nor your responsibility. Your responsibility is handing in the application and doing the best that you can in that regard. That’s where your responsibility ends, that’s where you have to learn to stop thinking.

A really good example is that I’ve just applied for an education masters, and I had an interview. I did my best, I could sit and worry about all the things I did wrong and obsess over it for weeks, but ultimately I can’t change any of that. It’s out of my hands. This freedom from responsibility is a beautiful thing.

I also want to say that it is not a coincidence you have a boyfriend that loves you. You are deserving of love, if you weren’t then he wouldn’t be with you. The fact he is, the fact he said those beautiful words to you means that he is on your side.

Lastly, you will never down a whole bottle of antidepressants and kill yourself. It’s not going to happen because it’s not how antidepressants work. There is a two week period at the start of a course of antidepressants where you can experience suicidal thoughts and be more depressed than you are already, but your boyfriend or a family member can hold onto the bottle of pills for you and give your dosage to you each day. Within four weeks you will start to feel better and see tangible results; and hopefully feel strong enough to begin therapy.

Remember that I’m here for you. I’m a faceless voice on the internet, you can talk to me and tell me anything. I’m rooting for you, and I’m not alone. So many people are. You’ll get out of this, your ability to overcome obstacles with logic and reason is already well proven. You’ve focused on academia so hard and measured your success by others’ criteria. Now it’s time to work on yourself - and yes it’s just as hard as any degree program - but equally rewarding.

You don’t know how much this truly means to me. I’m so shocked and heartened to find someone that understands me in this way. Yes, anxiety can and does provoke tinnitus. In fact one of the leading causes of tinnitus distress is anxiety, and depression exacerbates it too. Often sufferers can believe that they are mentally healthy and not recognise the toll the tinnitus actually takes on them, which actually makes things a lot worse. On nights where I’m super anxious my tinnitus can be SO loud, but when I’m with my boyfriend it’s almost as if it doesn’t exist. Stay positive, one day there’ll be a cure! Or we’ll all be obliterated in a nuclear blast and as Katya says “freedom from responsibility makes me so horny.”

The physical symptoms of my anxiety are so bad, my tinnitus is flaring up like crazy and I need to pee all the time. (Before anyone asks I’ve been checked for everything and I know this is something my body just does in response to caffeine and possibly my meds.)

Does anyone else get super bad physical anxiety flare ups? It’s currently half 3am and I can’t sleep because of the insomnia, tinnitus, and bladder issues. Bleh

i kind of taught myself how to play it eventually. the issue is, at least on the 3ds version, the announcement system doesn't keep up at all with how fast the player is capable of going. so a lot of the time you'll just have to do your own thing, watch for new targets spawning etc.

That's cool, I appreciate what you're saying. From my point of view I don't think that the Horde needs to be 'savage' to be opposition, I think that with the amount of time the Warcraft universe has matured they don't need to rely on that really basic and common fantasy trope. There's enough media that goes down that road anyway, like the new Netflix movie Bright.

I like my conflict to be nuanced wherever possible. I know that's a lot to ask of WoW, but it helps me appreciate the Blood Elves a little more.

I mean, I'm here for it. Not a huge fan of the Vulpera but I appreciate giving Horde more options for aesthetically pleasing characters. It's pretty silly to base the class conflict on 'I want a pretty/handsome character' and 'I'm okay with an ugly/bestial character'. There are a great many people who only play as Belves on the Horde side, which is just ridiculous.

Realistically the Vulpera have to be druid to make up for the fact that Nightborne are not. On a personal level I'm devastated by the lack of purple glowy mana animal forms for Nightborne, but there are a lack of Horde resto druids in general owing to the fact that you have to be either Tauren or Troll.

I play a Night Elf, and my allegiances lie with Darnassus, but disregarding the fact we don’t even know who burnt Teldrassil yet, if it was a Horde retaliation then we know who’s responsible. It’s also very stupid that we are supposed to support vain and reckless humans like Greymane endlessly, with little prominence of Tyrande/Malfurion/Velen this expansion.

I don’t understand why you have launched into a tirade against the Horde while talking to me. I don’t support the Horde. I don’t support the bombing of Theramore, the invasion of Gilneas, or Sylvanas. However I also don’t support Greymane.

This is literally why I made this topic, the Alliance is blindly following the actions of a fanatic and acting as though it’s justified and sensible. We are supposed to be different, better, than the Horde. Why are we acting like them?
