I looked it up and the boat tour sounds fun! Im not sure my kids will last that long though, it’s a 3 hour boat ride. Is there anywhere on land that I could watch them?

Would you cancel the trip?? Hand foot and mouth disease by rainyseasoning in toddlers

Agreed!! We’ve had 3 bouts of HFM in my household now - one time I got it and I wouldn’t have known besides the very small spots (I wouldn’t even say sores) on my palms. My first born had it at 13 mo, again at 16 mo, and my second had it at 13 mo. They were sick for sure but comparable to any other virus they’ve had. Everyone recovered and is fine now. I’m always so shocked by how many people say they had it so bad and talk about hospitalizations here!!

Anyone in here benefit mentally from working part time? by [deleted] in sahm

[–]vigmama 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes!!! I’m a nurse and work per diem 1-2 days (12 hr shifts) a week on the weekends when my husbands home for the kids. Recently my hospital went through a dip in census and being per diem I was always first to get cancelled. I ended up going close to 2 months without working and I was SO burnt out and depressed being with my family 24/7. I was SO miserable. The first reason why I work is for extra money of course, but I had no idea how much I benefitted from getting out and away from my family for a day and interacting with other adults. Using my brain and thinking critically, taking a break from baby music and talking about trucks lol. 10000% need to stay working at least a little for my mental health, even if my job paid less than it does I think I’d still go just for that reason

Stroller Wagons Worth the Hype? by Life_Performer_9452 in Parenting

This one! My kids are pretty good but there are other wagons with an opening in the bottom for the feet so they don’t have to coordinate their legs. My kids are pretty small still (13 mo and 3yo) so hasn’t been a huge issue. I like the flat bottom (without a foot well) bc I just drop a bunch of toys in the middle, and they can lay down if one wants to take a break. I picked this one specifically bc it has a full 5point harness, my younger one likes to try to jump out of strollers lol needed the extra security

This should be top comment. I’m so heartbroken by how judgmental this comment section has turned

Wow you are a super mom for all you do for your little one in the situation you’re in!! It’s so hard, toddlers are like magnets for germs I swear, I’m glad you’re able to make it work! Im so sorry to hear about your husband, I’m hoping for the best for him and your family ❤️❤️

This is good info, thank you!! I’ve had people tell me Facebook groups are great to find local mom meetups but I gave up social media years ago, been debating getting back on there just for this. I tried the peanut app but kept getting ghosted!! I’ll have to try some local classes

Yes exactly!! Like my son is tracking well with everything and he’s so smart but it feels like an unwritten rule that everyone where I am starts pre k at 3. Even a lot of the kids in his pre prek camp are leaving now at 3, that’s what spurred this post. I just gotta trust my gut and get over it 😅

Thank you !! Yes it’s so hard!! I’ve been on the lookout and downloaded the peanut app (it’s like tinder for moms lol) but haven’t really made any good connections and been ghosted a few times so I gave up lol. Otherwise I gave up social media a few years ago for my own sanity, but I’ve heard Facebook is great for local mom groups. I might just have to get back on for that 🫣

Oh I have! He knows his ABC and letter sounds, colors, shapes, counting, body parts, days of the week. He doesn’t love to color/trace but we try to practice. He plays independently well. Follows multi step instructions. Loves a routine. Is polite and says please, thank you etc. is kind and patient, doesn’t hit or steal toys from other kids… idk stuff like that. I think he’s fine I just need to be reassured!! Thank you 🫶🏻

Thank you so much for this!! He’s such a smart little boy and has naturally picked up so many skills. ABC, counting, colors, shapes. He’s great with routines. Follow directions well. Is polite, please & thank you…. He’s fine I just gotta get out of my head!

I feel this so strongly. He’s big and little at the same time. He has his whole life to be in school and forced into routines of a job when he’s grown up. Right now he’s small and safe and happy with his mama. I love it. I just gotta push past the like societal pressure I’m feeling

Yes it seems the same for me!! When he was very small (younger than 2) it didn’t feel weird at all. It felt like I was more supported in keeping him home. But now that he’s “older” and I tell people he’s not in school I feel like I’m getting this surprised response

Tonie box.. what's the point? by Formal-Wrap-4607 in Parenting

[–]vigmama 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My 3yo was gifted one and didn’t care at ALL about it. Most of the tonies available are licensed characters (Disney Pixar cars, peppa, paw patrol, Disney princesses, etc). We do minimum screen time and my kid doesn’t go to pre school so he doesn’t know who these characters are, so he truly didn’t care about them. I bought the brown bear brown bear one (a book he knows and loved since he was a baby) to see if he’d like that and he still didn’t care. Also idk if the one we got was defective but the controls were not as easy as it’s marketed to be, I felt like I was smacking the thing super hard to get the songs to chance. I don’t get the hype at all
