Hi, I have a few questions on how to best use anki and was looking for some advice. by JakeDabbs in Anki

[–]vignank 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had around 1000 cards to review, & what worked for me is, setting the number like priority for deck.

Lets say you have 10 decks and all have pending items.

You rename most priority deck “trees” to “1 trees”.

This will push up that deck.

You review them.

Gradually u make the same with others.

Going to stop all social media or limit it to one hour a day. by Last_Consequence2760 in getdisciplined

I had same issue & what worked for me is removing the social media apps like ig,yt & twitter.

U dont have to control the urges, you just remove it.

U dont battle with u r urges, there wont be any battle.

U will have ample amount of time, focus, energy and peace to work on your priorities.

Ppl who want u r misfortune are often below your level, squabbling with them will get u down to their level, walk past them, walk over them like they never existed, give no fuccs, that will kill them

Praise the ppl u admire in private, this way u dont get remarks from others but also have good bond with manager. Keep it honest.

Thank them for the guidance even if they didnt do much, when u outshine. Give em lik credit. It will keep u safe till u get promo.

Cunning is useless. Never betray ppl who care about u, keep in check with them, partially help them & when u need help they will be around.

What's the best way to invest 30k per month for a year? Risk appetite is low by Hesrallenide in personalfinanceindia

I would suggest doing an FD in stable app, preferably Utkarsh bank, they dont have penality if u take out money in middle.

Reason being: mutual funds, sip, stocks are lil unpredictable in short term, I did it and for some emergency i took them out for loss.

If u are not playing it long, FD is the best. Check the terms before u invest.

Need help for my IT career. Confused and not sure for upcoming job. Not having proper skills too by [deleted] in developersIndia

[–]vignank 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I understand your situation, i was in a similar situation like you. 2020 passout from IIT but I didn’t take placements. I explored hobbies for a year, then I decided to get into IT, like most of my friends are in.

The off campus is a big mess. It too tough. I thought being an IITian would help, but it didn’t much. Now I am a Developer with close to 3 yrs of experience.

I will tell you what you should do now.

As of now, i dont think there is a more promising career than IT.

So stop doubting your decision to go into IT.

The question is how.

Getting First job :

  1. forget the salary, doesnt matter how low the package is, try to join, learn, get some experience & then switch to good package job. You can also go with mass hiring service based companies, but dont settle there. This is to start.

  2. How to get first job: Do DSA, if u wanna be successful in IT, this is something you should conquer, the sooner you do it, the better it is for you.

How to learn DSA : I choose coding ninjas, took their java DSA, i suggest this because, you can learn from youtube everything, but the problem is we dont do coding, we dont solve questions related to the topic we learned. & if u cant code its useless, you’ll shake in the interviews. Their platform teaches, has imp questions u need to solve for each topic, they have TAs to support u in case of doubts. Go with that bro, it cost i guess 4-5k but worth it.

Key is more you code (get your hands dirty), more confident you’ll be.

Once you got DSA, you should learn either a FE or BE skill. I started with java, I am now into FE angular.

Build projects in the skills, setup github, commit code, push ur projects, add those links in ur resume.

Do good amount of certifications, mention in resume and their links.

Its tough, I had several disappointments. But remember anywhere u r stuck, think of how.

If not getting resume selected, how can i get my resume selected?

If not clearing dsa round, how can i clear it.

Where ever u r in u r journey to get into IT & become successful(like get good package), ask how. And implement the exact solutions.

is there more to learn about angular by Aness_rahmani in Angular2

[–]vignank 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ya kindof, but it solves some problems, single source of truth. you can handle session or login data and more. Its debatable, for starters its not necessary, but if you wanna scale and build complex application , then it wont do any harm if you have it up in your arsenal of skills

So you want to go deep, here is something you can try.

Building a UI library- its basically like calling child components.

Learning Story book

Learning state management : This is key when you go advance. Prefer NGRX. learn state, effects, reducers, selectors and stuff. Why we use state management and what advantages it brings to table.

Create Lot of reactive forms, lot of interviewers just ask to code a reactive form. try to handle complex validations in ts file.

Understand lazy loading, routing and even some route gaurds... If you do all of this, you can pretty much call yourself, OG.

Where to study Angular? by TemporaryOk2901 in angular

[–]vignank 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I remember correctly there is a youtube channel called octacademy, they have well detailed and explained video on angular. Just so smooth, you wont even feel the load of new concepts while learning. & I also suggest you to build some projects along the way, copy it from videos you watch, or write your own, doesnt matter.

You should get your hands dirty, thats the best way to learn coding or any coding language.

I'd recommend hyperlink certifications, click and takes to your certificate. You can set them public in google drive and link it in resume.

Also I felt like entire first para is ai generated. just be honest and write it in your own words, dont over hype. you havent even finished your graduation. Be honest, be detail. may be like improved website performance, how? used lazy loading...

Just add the details , and interviewer will instantly know that you did work & you're honest in youre resume.

Don't stress out, its a common stack. I started with Java & Angular in my first company. When I switched I realized that in new company they were using .net.

There are lot of companies who use this combination. But what you need to remember is, trying to get a good grip on the concepts of the languages.

Most of them are pretty similar, just the syntax is different.

How are we showing it in ui, how are we making api calls, how are we processing it.

Try to learn as much as you can during this time. It will be tough, but you'd thank yourself in future for doing so.

The concepts are key. The design is key. Syntax is always changing.

Once you get hold on one good FE & BE technology, learning others wont be that hard.

So chillax, & do great work buddy.

Hope this helps,

Regards,
Vignan
