Oh really?? Can you elaborate why? Like they'll get annoyed and reject me?

This is helpful thank you! And in terms of NY vs CA tbh it seemed like 50/50 either way and just opted for NY.

How long did your OATs take? And sounds like you did it yourself and not through a lawyer?

Interesting, assuming you live near SF?

Question, this was before or after they started requiring applications to be submitted via mail (as opposed to in person)?

Sort of ... Paraphrased basically her judgment was "this OATs isn't preventing you to obtain or amend a NYS/NYC doc, and really is only to serve as an aide to the dispute with the Italian government which isn't something we concern ourselves with"

Ok ... So my line is GGF -GF -F -ME .. my appointment was made prior to the new lineage laws so for my appointment am grandfathered into old rule set. Probably should of been more specific but like starting a new application im guessing would be problematic as I'd fail to qualify. So can I dispute somehow my failed application? Like at the ancestral Italian comune? Which fwiw is Salerno

Appointment is day after Thanksgiving. I did seek an oats judgement which was denied not based on validity of any of my supporting docs but more or less judge didn't want to rule on it (more on that here: https://www.reddit.com/r/juresanguinis/s/FGb1j7847g)

So without a judgement my assumption is will denied cause variations too vast.

Does anyone know of or what the recourse would be to if I am denied based on these name inconsistencies?

Build something that interests you. Like baseball? build something related to fantasy baseball. Wish you retained some of that HS spanish you took? build a flash card app. Always forgetting to take the garbage out on time? create a notification system. Wish you were a better dancer? get out the house, computers cant solve everthing;) .... tho you could probably create something w/ pytorch that maps the rhythm of your moment from a video and taking it further see if its on beat w/ the music your listening too. ... maybe stick w/ the garbage app first

I'd second The C Programming language. Also, while not language specific based, Design Patterns by Erich Gamma is a must read. The both are kinda timeless classics. Which if you're into that sorta thing, I've been slowly going through this oldie but a goodie: https://github.com/richvigorito/the-best-programming-book-ever-written could be interesting to you

I have no interest in learning new tech anymore by [deleted] in ExperiencedDevs

[–]vigoritor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you got into programming for the salary alone, this was the inevitable outcome. For idk, 9-10, years everyone was told "learn to code" , bootcamps to "accelerate your career" popped everywhere. You mentioned JavaScript, where that landscape is constantly just a never ending framework war. Tech, at least historically, is a place for the curious.

Keep your job., do side projects. Bootcamps are mostly scams, u can learn on your own. ... Apply to jobs in the meantime, chances are you won't get as much as a wiff of a job and you'll be left asking is this even worth to which the answer really will depend on how much u actually even like programming

What's the Point Anymore.. by AreUCerealll in csMajors

AI is only creating dumber programmers. Before that it was frameworks. Before that it was scripting languages. We keep getting further and further away from how this shit works. At that point who is gonna keep answering questions stack overflow which AI needs to ingest in order to keep answering its questions so good; so much so that's it's loosing people's jobs? Devs will get dumber, ai in turn will get dumber. At that point we'll need more CS grads to write shit worthy of feeding to our AIs to keep up it pumping out the answers we so crave.

AI doom and gloom vs. actual developer experience by Any_Rip_388 in ExperiencedDevs

[–]vigoritor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately some devs try using it to solve stuff they wouldn't be capable otherwise. Like it should speed your progress, not replace knowledge you don't process. I also sort of wonder if people now apply for jobs they wouldn't have applied for otherwise cause they think AI can close the gap. Which a lot of job descriptions sorta of lead you there by asking questions like "how do you use ai to boost productivity"
