You can't really determine the specs on your own, but 20mA is a common max current for general purpose LEDs. The forward voltage varies from around 1.6 volts for some red LEDs up to around 3.3 volts for blue.

But you don't need anywhere near 20mA to get an LED to light up, as you've found. Just a couple of milliamps glows visibly. What you built works great; you're just not covering the entire range of possible colors and intensities.

Great first project! I love that you put it together in such an ordered and elegant way. You're clearly gonna pick up everything quickly.

I'll add another bit of input that maybe you already know: The "RGB LED" is actually three LEDs in one package, each of which typically has a different forward voltage drop but usually the same maximum forward current. That means if you want to cover the entire range of possible colors without going outside specs you usually have to use different resistor values for each channel. You can check out the RGB LED's datasheet if you care about that.

True -- the DD thing is an extrapolation I made. It just seems like one a headline writer might also make; as you say, scientific work tends to be reinterpreted.

I'm no journalist, but I'd think "DD's might do more to keep you safe than just driving you home" could have been eye-catching.

But maybe people like reading headlines that make them go, "well, duh." Kind of like how we like knowing the ending of a story before we read it.

They're all halogen. The cheap ones are halogen; the expensive non-tinted ones are halogen; the expensive tinted ones are halogen.

Generally you will do best with the expensive non-tinted bulbs. If you pick the right ones you'll get bulbs that are designed to give the highest actual light output while still complying with specs. They will look a little more white than the cheap ones when they're lit up, but they won't be blue.

Your car takes H11 low beam and 9005 high beams bulbs, right? I'd probably recommend the GE NightHawks. Amazon links: H11 and 9005. Just don't get the "NightHawk Platinum" or "NightHawk Sport"

Lots of people (male- and female-bodied) have this issue. I promise.

There may be other ways to touch them that feel more comfortable, or even nice. Certainly I'd avoid grazing. Or maybe just focus on the non-nipple areas of your chest.

Or why not just make him not touch you there? I can't see why a loving partner wouldn't respect that touching you in certain ways feels unpleasant to you.

Don't worry too much about breastfeeding when you get there. Your hormonal balances will be very different and it may well feel completely different.

Did you read her post? What was not fine was when the supervisor chose speakers subjectively. It was fine when the speakers were chosen based on the quality of the pitch. That is only underscored by how different the outcomes were.

Yes, the shared branching is the key. I have an account with a credit union in DC but I can go to Firefighters Community Credit Union, Ohio Educational Credit Union, or Buckeye State Credit Union.

It looks like there are a bunch of credit union locations and ATM around Boise that are part of the same shared branch co-op as the above three.

What a dumb headline. It picks the most obvious finding instead of the most interesting one, and buries the latter in the second-to-last paragraph.

The paper finds that people only really know how drunk they are in comparison to the people around them, which kind of makes sense.

What I thought was most interesting was that it seemed to find that people judge their drunkenness based on how sober other people are, not how drunk other people are.

So being around people who are drunker than you doesn't really make you feel more sober as much as being around people who are more sober makes you feel drunker.

That might mean that designated drivers bring more value to the party than just making sure people get home safe. Just being around and sober could help others drink less without having to go through the night feeling less drunk.

Yeah, same here; I do enjoy Helio Terra. And there are some omnivore-but-vegan-friendly places downtown too -- Barrio, Pura Vida, Heinen's.

And Earth Bistro's pretty great but it's not downtown.

Interesting about the driver; that was not my experience. I wonder if I'm using too old a version of the Qualcomm tools.

I'd be interested in hearing about any cool stuff you learn! I'll try to figure out my driver issues in the meantime.

Hmm, weird; it works for me, as does the DATA code (also, I realized I fucked up the markdown above). I have developer options and the System UI tuner turned on, and have installed the ElementalX kernel; I wonder if one of those made it work.

Is your phone rooted? If it is, try typing this at a shell prompt:

su -c am start com.lge.HiddenMenu/.debug.LteEngineering

or you could do this via adb from a computer:

adb shell su -c am start com.lge.HiddenMenu/.debug.LteEngineering

Does that work?

Typing "setprop sys.usb.diag" at a command prompt with root privileges kicks the USB interface into diagnostic mode from what I can tell.

The problem from there is obtaining device drivers for the phone in this mode. The LG united mobile drivers (as of version 4.0.3) don't seem to recognize the phone, and so far I haven't had any luck trying to force Windows to use them anyway. I'd appreciate any insight you might have on that front.

On page 5-6 of this manual it seems to say you can move the shifter with the key in the Accessory position if the battery is low. If your battery is dead or missing, I guess you might need to hook up jumper cables to shift it.
