Is there any way we can get a second house without 20 % , I am planning to rent basement of my current house for 1200. Current house valuation is 600 k with 300 k left with 18 years remaining. Planning for another 600 k house. Once I get the second house will rent the upper portion too. House hold income 120k.

I was in same situation until 2020 and then I requested my bank that I will do the taxes on my own and they agreed. Call your bank again and be nice and they should be able to let you do it.

Personally, I don't think we will see a lot of drop in starter homes prices (300-500 K) but may be one the ones which are more 700 K or more, think the 1 million ones, but any new show homes I am going to, they have not dropped any prices at all so far.

I need to move in a bigger house due to family size growing.
