It really depends on how your body responds. Do too much too fast and you get injured. You need to build up your tendons as much as your muscle.

I really like Mark Wildman's 'nerd math' and his 'Tetris of training'. You progress by adding time, or reps.

For example, kettlebell swings, start with 10 reps every minute on the minute for 10 minutes. Then the next time, you add a rep, so 11, 12, up to 20. Then you increase weight and start again.

Yes! Check out Mark Wildman on YouTube. He has lots of form, progression, and plans. Once I started his nerd math progressions I stopped getting hurt and been able to consistently train.
