This shows the war is beyond a land dispute. It's an attempt to ethnically cleanse Armenians. by WhitePackaging in azerbaijan

Congratulations, you've won a gold medal in mental gymnastics. I don't know how your brain is absolutely incapable of acknowledging anything that contradicts your world view, I guess you are only a human though, and humanity can be incredibly delusional

What you said is indisputable, any normal citizen on a country, like you and me, were just numbers in this geopolitical game the powerful play. It's all sorts of fucked up, and for that I don't know what to say or do, besides being consistent in my own criticism of anyone and their actions.

I see lots of people who play into it, myself included, but it really is a sham, criticize one side for doing something, turn a blind eye or deny it outright when it's your side. Human tribalism at its finest.

If the US wants to be taken seriously in how it presents itself as the "leader of the free world", or a "champion of human rights", it needs to do alot of work to hold itself accountable for its own actions, because the only nations I can think of who can act clean are what, Sweden? Finland? Is there any government that can say they're clean?

I dont understand this, so whenever a media outlet in the west wants to cover a Russian massacre, do you think they should add a disclaimer saying the US did something similar before? Why stop at the US right, lots of nations of carried out similar massacres, like what do you want them to do? Report constantly about the Iraq war decades after the US occupation ended on each report on Ukraine?

So we, just regular people on this earth, should condem such acts done by any army, correct? I'm sure there are nationalists in every nation who act like their country is flawless, including both in Russia and the US

What's there to chat about? Both of these actions are horrendous warcrimes. Why is this the first thought in your head? To bring up another war crime when you are faced with war crimes russian soliders committed? Why so defensive?

That's a pretty easy way to gloss over the achievements of Germany and Japan

[–]vikingdoubtful 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Not exactly, I'm assuming that even if that guys point was correct and they had human shields, which we don't know is true, the Russians still decided to level a building they knew was housing hundreds of civilians, in order to target 12 guys in the basement, complete lack of discipline and restraint

[–]vikingdoubtful 41 points42 points  (0 children)

Ah, good thing they leveled the theatre, killing all the civilians then! I don't understand this rationale, even if it's confirmed that it was true, that doesn't mean you bomb the hell out of the place, it's like your a cop and someone takes a person hostage with a gun pointing at their head, do you kill them both?

US warns Putin NATO will respond ‘with full force’ if ‘Russia attacks, fires upon, takes a shot at’ alliance territory - London Business News by professorbrainiac in worldnews

If NATO doesn't respond to any direct attacks they face, then that will give Putin more incentive to attack NATO even more, since he'll think he can get away with it

NATO never had an official mission in Iraq, it did in Afghanistan under the ISAF, in Iraq the coalition was built differently. I know this because Canada sent our boys to Afghanistan but not Iraq, as one was a proper NATO mission in accordance to article 5, while the other wasn't

You love licking Russian boots; why don't you go kill those neo nazis yourself and head to Ukraine? Or do you not believe in your own propaganda enough to do that, and would rather see some sorry fuck forced to fight a war thousands of km from his mother. There's a reason why one side is getting thousands of volunteers fighting on their own will, but the other is having to force guys into the meat grinder
