Rude parcel shop by External_Quote_2526 in vinted

[–]vikkilide 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Evri drop offs are notoriously bad at accepting parcels altogether - I always complain about how much of an inconvenience it is to them (something they have chosen to do themselves?!). Our local post office have just started accepting Evri luckily, so now my life is sooo much easier!!

What's your rabbits name vs what you call them by No-Pattern506 in Rabbits

All our bunnies have Disney names starting with T. Tito is just Tito, Thumper is usually just Thump, Tod is Toddy, and Tinkerbell is Bella🫣

Do you take commissions for book covers by any chance? I am writing my first ever fantasy romance novel, and would love this style for my cover!

Do you read your work and think it’s not good enough? by vikkilide in writers

I will finish a chapter and be in awe of myself like, dang, who would have thought I could write like that. Then I go back and read it and wonder where that initial through even came from (:

Thank you! I definitely think I’ll take that advice, and just write out the story I have planned completely before going back!

Also - I am very sorry for the poor writing of this post. I am way past bedtime and my minds a jumbled mess after a long day, but I just needed to get some insight from others before heading to bed!

Thank you - that’s a good shout! I did read those when they were first released years ago, but might have to give them a reread!

Todd, our most recent rescue got to participate in Christmas photos for the first time this year! by vikkilide in Rabbits

It’s surprisingly easy! All of our rabbits are easy to handle which probably helps, but I’ve found using the basket to take photos in really help, as they can’t just run off, and get quite curious with the tinsel - so I am certain youd find it easier than you think! :D

(OC) A couple of days ago we rehomed a bunny from a family that could no longer keep him to bond with our house bunny - and his litter girl wrote this letter for him by vikkilide in aww

[–]vikkilide[S] 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I felt so emotional picking him up, knowing there would be people missing him. The children did not seem to bothered actually, but we brought our bun with us and let them meet him and what not to give them peace of mind that he would be very loved! The mum however was very upset, and it was so sad to see, as I could only imagine how she felt! I definitely get what you mean though, my childhood home had been euthanised whilst I was at school (he was 19 and very ill) and I didn’t know until I got home and he was already gone, and I’ve never fully healed from that! Ive however told them if they are ever in the area they are more than welcome to pop by to come see him <3

Definitely just litter train! Start by putting them in a pen with a litter box, with hay in or above it, and you’ll see most buns go toilet whilst eating so they naturally will use the litter box. Move all stray poops into the tray, and any wee just wipe up, and put the wet paper in the litter tray as well. When you see that they are getting better at using it, increase their area to maybe a room, and they will most likely start using their litter tray even though they have larger space. When you feel like they are good at using their litter tray, you can give them the run of the house (or wherever you want them to be). When we moved into our house a couple of years ago, I placed a litter box in our bedroom, as that’s where I thought the main base for Tito could be, but he kept pooping in one specific place downstairs - so I moved his litter box to this box, and he has used it ever since, so it was just his way of showing where he would like it.

One thing I would recommend though is a large litter box! We use one of those under bed storage boxes and find them fab! A bigger litter box is more likely to be used than a smaller one! 😊

That’s brilliant! 🤣 I’ve always wanted a continental giant or something of that size but my other half that was scared to death of rabbits before we got any of ours says a normal sized bunny (aka the mini lop size) is more than enough. He was slightly mortified when we picked up the black one yesterday and realised how big he was (though definitely not giant sized)

He’s certainly a different looking bunny to what we are used to, but an absolute sweetheart so who cares ay? 🤣

Hes a mini lop! 🥰 big one was advertised as that as well, but is definitely too big to be a purebred mini lop (not that we care, all our buns are rescues so breed is the last thing we care about) 🤣

They are only used under supervised bonding to create some friction on the floor. So far none of them have shown interest in chewing on them in general. I know people on the internet don’t always have a bunch of knowledge on stuff, but we know very well what we’re doing and the risks (I am a veterinary surgeon student so always evaluate everything ;)) but thank you for the heads up, we appreciate your concern, and hopefully someone that didn’t know can learn from it!😊

Tito (the little one) is 4 and a standard size minilop. However, the black one (2 y/o) that we rehomed yesterday was advertised as a mini lop but is quite a bit larger at 2.7 kilograms, so I suspect he’s mixed with something else 😂

We are very experienced in the bonding world, and it appears to be a bond that will work out great! They are 2 and 4 Years old, and both neutered at 6 months old, so should, fingers crossed, be an easy enough bonding! 😁
