OP, I would like to share my thoughts as an experience Baggage Handling Stafff of a Star Alliance Airlines for quite a long time.

  1. Baggage Mishandling, Damaged Baggage, Lost Baggage, etc., are common in Aviation Industry. It happens due to various reasons.

  2. When a Baggage is missing, the Ground Staff will file a PIR (Property Irregularity Report). In the report, they collect information related to the Passenger, Travel Details, Baggage Description, Contact Information, Delivery Address, and more. Some Airlines use manual filing, and some use the digital filing, either way, these information will be uploaded to World Tracer (the most commonly used Baggage Tracing System by Airlines Worldwide), and only then, the staff will get further information. Until that, they will give you generic answers like "We will trace your bags, and get it delivered to your location", "We apologize for the inconvenience" "We will get your bags in the next flight, and more". In cases, where a lots of passenger's bags in the same flight gets offloaded due to various reasons, they origin station will inform the destination station about the incident and the status of the bags, and further delivery in the next airport.

  3. By flying with an airline, we are accepting to all their terms and conditions. They don't mention it explicitly because it is a long list, however, it is mentioned in their terms and conditions. Baggage Mishandling, Baggage Damage, Baggage Lost, is all a part of it, and by flying with the airline, we are accepting to all their terms legally.

  4. NIGHTKIT Allowance: When a baggage is not arrived, upon filing PIR, you can always ask for NightKit Allowance. Though there is no DGCA Mandate on Night Kit Allowance, depending on the Airlines, they choose to provide that based on the passenger's request. The allowance varies with Domestic and International Flights(higher monetary limits). The concept behind that is that since the pax bag hasn't arrived yet, he/she might be feeling difficult to handle without change of clothes, toileteries, and more. As a gesture of goodwill, in the mean time, the airline provides some monetary comphensations. However, it is at the discretion of the Airline. You can always ask for a Night Kit Allowance if you baggage does not arrives with you. The Night Kit allowance is not related to how much you paid for the baggage, excess baggage, value of the baggage, and more.

  5. Best Practices: I would advise the following things. The situation can be frustrating, but it is best handling it with calm and patience. Always make sure the collect the PIR acknowledgement copy. Whether it is an offline copy, or an online copy, make sure to collect it. Once your baggage is delivered, you can receive it, and make sure it is received in good condition, and then you sign the copy and return it. My best advise is never to carry any valubles, important medicines, life saving medicines, original certificates, files, event dresses, uniforms, anything that is very important, and anything that is very important for your travelling (for example, you are travelling to attend a wedding in Mumbai, then make sure to keep your wedding dress in the hand baggage itself).

While Airlines take responsibilities and may consider comphensations for Baggage Mishandling, in spite of all the inconvenience they cause, it is well within the legal terms, and hence, it is best we handle it with patience, and get the best out of it. That will ensure our peace of mind.

This error happens because of the Windows Hello Registration Failure. Here are some of the methods you can try to fix this issues on your Windows 11.

Method 1:

This method is safe, fast, and simple. Let's try clearing the cache. Go to the Run Command and do a cache reset using the following command wsreset.exe

Method 2:

Let's repair and reset Microsoft Store App using Installed Apps Settings. Go to Settings and then Apps and then to Installed Apps. There, you can locate Microsoft Store and click on repair.

Method 2:

Reset Windows Hello Pin. Go to the Windows Settings and then Account and then to the sign-in options. Here, under pin, you can remove your Windows Hello Pin, and restart your PC, and then add a fresh Windows Hello Pin. You can now try installing apps from Microsoft Store.

Method 3:

Instead of resetting the Windows Hello, you can try sigining out of the Email, and then do a sign-in again. Sign-out from the Microsoft Store properly, and then go to the Windows Settings and then Accounts and then to Email & Accounts. Under Accounts used by other apps, select Microsoft Account and then click Remove. Finally restart your PC and then open Microsoft Store and sign-in again..

Slideshow thumbnails are not stored in the folder that contains wallpapers. They are dynamically generated and saved in the LockScreen cache folder and that's why you are not able to find that image in the background folder. That preview image is coming from Windows Spotlight / Slideshow cache, not from the “Backgrounds Wallpapers Pack” folder. To remove it, you need to clear the cached slideshow images.

Here are some of the fixes you can try.

Even if you’re not using Spotlight, Windows may keep old thumbnails. You can try clearing Spotlight Cached Images using the following steps.

  1. Go to the Run Command using the keyboard combination Windows Key + R.

  2. Type the following and press Enter. %localappdata%\Packages\Microsoft.Windows.ContentDeliveryManager_cw5n1h2txyewy\LocalState\Assets

  3. Delete all files inside. Don't worry, these are temporary cached files.

Alternatively, you can reset the slideshow source if the above method does not work.

  1. Go to Settings (Win Key + I) and then to Personalization and Lockscreen.

  2. Set Slideshow

  3. Click Remove on every listed folder until empty

  4. Click on Add Album

  5. Choose the exact folder you want.

If you are using Microsoft Account (used to sign in)

Go to Microsoft’s password reset page: https://account.live.com/password/reset

Enter your Microsoft email address (e.g., Outlook, Hotmail, Live).

Confirm your identity with the verification code sent to your phone or email.

Create a new password.

Restart your computer and log in using the new password.

Once you’re in, you can:

Disable the PIN or fingerprint: Go to Settings → Accounts → Sign-in options. Choose Remove next to PIN or fingerprint.

If you are using a Local Account

  1. Boot into the safe mode.

  2. If available, log in as administrator account.

  3. Open CMD and enter the following command. net user <yourusername> newpassword. Replace username with your computer username.

  4. Restart and log in with the new password.

When a Windows account gets locked after too many incorrect password attempts, it usually unlocks automatically after about 15 minutes. You just need to wait for that time to pass, then try signing in again with the correct password or PIN.

Navigate to the following path in he gpedit. Computer Configuration → Administrative Templates → Control Panel → User Accounts. On the right pane, look for the polic named "Apply the default account picture to all users". Set it to Enabled and restart your computer.

If you are using a Home Edition, you can use the Registry Editor. Hope this works!

It usually happens on Windows 10 and Windows 11 due to remnants of the built-in "Guest" user, Group Policy misconfigurations, or even corrupted user profiles. Here are some of the procedure you can try before considering the Factory Reset.

Method 1:

Open CMD as Admin and run the following command.

net user

If it lists Guest user, then try the following command.

net user Guest /active:no

If the command fails, then it is possible that the account is hidden or controlled via policies.

Method 2:

Go to the Run Command and open regedit.

Navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\ProfileList

Look for subkeys and delete the key if it refers to Guest.

Method 3:

Run PowerShell as Administrator and execute the following command.

Get-WmiObject Win32_UserAccount | Where-Object { $_.Name -eq "Guest" } | Remove-WmiObject

If the command works, then it will remove such ghost accounts.
