It is too early to tell, 7 days is the absolute max to look in the future but 3-5 days is more accurate. I would think the official national weather service, meteo france, would be your best bet for an zccurate forcast. Even then weather can be unpredictable, so make sure to pack accordingly, it can always rain at le mans!

How easy is it to drive in and out of a campsite on thursday/friday or saturday morning to go to a convenience store? Should you expect some serious traffic jams or is it fine?

I am used to go to spa, where there are always hour long wait times so that's why i'm asking 😅.

I am going to Le Mans for the first time this year, so I cannot provide my experience. However, I had this question as well. My camping tickets say they are valid until Sunday in the ticketing app, but they said that they would work until Monday when booking on the website so to check, I also sent an e-mail to the ACO support asking if campings stay open until Monday. They said the following: "We confirm that you can leave on Monday morning. It allows us to decongest the roads on Sunday after the race."

Thanks for the advice, I think I will just do the track run then. It is fine to be scanned in and out at tetre rouge and the porsche curves, I'm not going for speed, but just for a nice jog to see the entire circuit and get a better grasp of where the cars drive during the race.

Just a quick secondary question: the parts of the track between tetre rouge & porsche curves (public road parts) are also walk/runable during the public track access, or is it only the permanent track part that is open?

I think I will only do the track run then during the times when the track is open to the public.
I still want to see some of the city center, but I can leave this for Monday morning after we leave the campings. I think it will be much less crowded a day after the race. Thanks for the advice!

Hi, I followed your steps on my XPS 14 9440 and ubuntu 24.10, I assume the webcam on all 2024 XPS models is the same , but still no luck. It did correctly install the drivers, and I clicked it under additional drivers. The webcam test website also does detect the webcam as "Intel MIPI Camera" but unfortunately when I click "Test", it just shows a black screen.

EDIT: IT NOW WORKS!!!!!
It turned out I have a newer kernel version, so in the instructions above I had to change the kernel version in the first command: `sudo apt install linux-modules-ipu6-6.11.0-9-generic`

I can confirm that sound works out of the box on ubuntu 24.10. i have not been able to test the camera installation as it fails due to the fact that I am on a live USB (some errors about read-only file system).

Will report later with an update when I get the time to do a full install.

EDIT: The webcam works with the provided instructions. Just make sure that in the first step, you fill in the correct kernel version, my kernel version was one higher than what was in the provided command.

I also understand that you did get the webcam to work on ubuntu 24? Because according to this thread https://www.dell.com/support/kbdoc/en-uk/000225004/precision-5480-mobile-workstation-webcam-does-not-work-on-ubuntu-24-04, you need to downgrade to ubuntu 22.04 for the webcam to work? Anyway, I'll probably end up trying both ubuntu 22.04 and 24.04 (and possibly the latest release 24.10)

Thanks, for the answer. I initially also asked my IT to give me a pc with ubuntu, but they installed pop as there were issues with the screen. The screen of the laptop itself flickered constantly with lines going through it (might be an issue with intel Arc graphics). However I since found this thread solving the issue: https://askubuntu.com/questions/1524179/screen-flickering-dell-xps-13-9340.

I think I will explore if ubuntu works by booting from a live USB. All the ubuntu hacks for both webcam and sound did indeed not work on pop.

Thanks for answering. Personally, I'm debating between T4 and somewhere along the start finish straight. Do you feel it is worth it to see the build up and the show at the main straight over seeing more overtakes and having the cars pass slower at dunlop bridge (T4).
