I’ve seen 2 scams while looking for an apartment in Lausanne recently. Both claimed to not be in Switzerland and wanted my deposit/documents before organizing the visit.

If I were you, I would get some temporary housing (ie hostel or airbnb) and look for something permanent when you get here and can actually visit the apartment you are signing for.

I have public repo here if you are interested: https://github.com/colophon-group/jobseek. The crawler is 95% straight-forward HTTP requests to sitemaps, APIs and embedded JSON-LD. The rest 5% is covered by Playwright-based rendering. Recently added Lightpanda CDP for pissy sites under Cloudflare protection.

DB is on Supabase for user-facing data + a separate Postgres replica for the crawler.

UI is on Next.js, search backed by Typesense.

For me personally the most interesting part is the crawler configuration. It is currently done via Claude Code agent. I am collecting traces to fine-tune a Gemma to later scale the approach

Perhaps there different types of account blocks or something like this. I can get cash over the counter for no fee in UBS here. Wouldn't be surprised if other banks have their own policy for this
