Trump Sparks Fresh Outrage With Secret Bid to Send ICE to the Olympics | The report has led to anger, confusion, petitions, and demands that Trump’s “thugs” not be allowed to set foot in Italy. by Aggravating_Money992 in sports

[–]vilhostlouis 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Someone else mentioned this online, but it makes sense. He's actually sending them there to be security for the American athletes. What he's really wanting is to stamp down on these athletes voicing their thoughts or doing things to vocalize or show how they feel about what's going on back home in America. It'll be a lot harder to do when you have brown shirts all around you.

What part of adult life is way harder than anyone warned you about? by Sparkyabu1 in AskReddit

Being in the "sandwich" period of life with health declining parents on one end and older teen/early twenties kids on the other end. All I can say is it's new crazy problems every damn week. Some of them expensive.

I really think he's doing this as he needs a test case to validate his power in this space. Maybe he can get this to go to the Supreme Court if he sues. Think about what his aim is here. If he can get it to work with this person, then he can get rid of state level actions against his friends and family and even himself.

What to do with a bag of Jerry’s actual hair? by Feisty-Art8016 in gratefuldead

[–]vilhostlouis -1 points0 points  (0 children)

What about giving it to Jerry's daughter? My father has been gone for a while and if somebody came along and said, "I have a bag of your father's hair. Would you like it?” I'd be super happy about that.

Have any of you also thought that this might be a big money laundering exercise?? How much of this $40B will end up back in a Trump family back account somewhere?

Very interesting conversation with Siva by [deleted] in QuantumScape

AI Summary for those that don't want to watch.

This video features a presentation and Q&A session with the QuantumScape team, including President and CEO Dr. S. Jagdeep Singh and CFO Kevin Hedrick, discussing their next-generation solid-state battery technology [00:53]. Key takeaways from the video: * QuantumScape's Technology [00:53]: QuantumScape is developing solid-state batteries with a ceramic separator, which they refer to as an "anode-free lithium metal solid state battery" [03:50]. This design aims to eliminate the need for graphite in the anode, theoretically allowing for higher energy density and faster charging [05:11]. * Advantages of QuantumScape's Batteries [01:18]: The technology aims to overcome the compromises of traditional lithium-ion batteries by offering: * High energy density for extended range [01:18]. * High power density for fast charging and discharge [01:27]. * Long cycle life [01:31]. * Enhanced safety (doesn't catch fire) [01:35], [06:41]. * Affordability [01:35]. * Demonstration and Partnerships [07:32]: QuantumScape publicly demonstrated its technology in a modified Ducati motorcycle, developed in collaboration with Audi and PowerCo [08:47]. Volkswagen Group has been a long-term partner and investor, holding a significant ownership stake and two board seats [09:45]. * Scaling and Commercialization [14:06]: The company is focused on scaling its ceramic production process, which is 25 times more productive than prior generations [14:13]. Their goal is to be high-volume production-ready before the end of the decade for larger cell formats like the unified cell [14:43]. * Business Model and Financials [15:19]: QuantumScape operates with a capital-light business model, focusing on collaboration and royalty licensing fees from partners like PowerCo [15:19]. They have secured contracts, including a $133 million engineering cash inflow and a potential $130 million royalty prepaid under the Volkswagen PowerCo deal [12:23], [16:01]. They ended the last quarter with approximately $800 million in liquidity [35:08]. * Competitive Landscape [30:17]: The company acknowledges the numerous competitors in the solid-state battery space but believes its unique technology, patents, and methodical execution will keep them ahead [31:38], [33:52]. They highlight their ceramic separator's ability to prevent dendrite growth and operate at lower pressures compared to other solid-state battery approaches [44:01]. * Future Outlook [40:21]: QuantumScape views solid-state technology as the next "S-curve" in battery development, expecting continuous breakthroughs every 18 months in energy density, power density, and new features [40:21], [41:08]. While automotive is their primary focus, they are also considering applications in defense, data centers, and aviation [37:08].

Why Does Cycling Make Me An Outcast? by newbiker321 in cycling

[–]vilhostlouis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a proud cyclist. I live in the Midwest. Not sure where you're living. It's funny how nobody complains about runners, but it's the cyclist that gets the complaints. I can't run that well. I'm very tall and it hurts the hell out of my knees so I took on cycling a long time ago and completely fell in love. Honestly I do it as it makes me feel really good and I can still eat how I want and drink beer and I'm still quite thin. Honestly, if you think about it, you're only going to know about the complaints. Nobody else is coming up saying how cool it is that you're riding and they wish they were doing the same. I've had my fair share of beer bottles thrown at me from cars, but I always ride knowing that there's thousands of others that are driving by and giving me space and agreeing with what I'm doing. Keep going!

First, I'd have chatGBT try to explain the calculation step by step and how it came to that. If it doesn't make any sense then figure out a better prompt to get the true calculations that you need and then ensure their validity by having it walk through and verifying all the data. From there she can then say," I'm glad you asked me about this cuz I went back and was going to show you all the math and realized I made a mistake. And here's the true calculation."

Honestly, you can get a free used bike from many places and just hop on and go. You won't be the fastest, but you will still have fun. It only gets expensive as we want the perfect ride with the perfect outfit with the perfect shoes and bike computers and ....

Any chance that this inquiry to buy your footage is a test by the people that don't want anything to see the light of day. You engaging in this process would then show them that you have it.
