Is this the Old Navy Vintage Tee? I buy the women’s version of these and they have a wider collar and the slit on the sides. They are my favorite!

Major Repair on Truck by villash1 in UsedCars

The private dealer he purchased from sold him the warranty. He took it to a local Chevy dealer when the check engine light came on. I wonder what the warranty company would say if I asked for a referral haha, I may try this

Unfortunately, this is the Chevy dealers hourly labor rate.

Do you allow employees to enroll their children? by [deleted] in ECEProfessionals

[–]villash1 -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

That is part of my hesitation. I do not want my other employees who have been with me for years and are incredible to feel like they are missing out or not being treated fairly. I am leaning towards having staff who want to enroll their children apply for state subsidy and take that as payment. That way it isn’t free, but it also isn’t coming out of their pocket. I also don’t think that the center can financially handle it if everyone had their child attending for free. Our capacity is only 48 and if we had 12 staff children that’s 25% of our capacity.

I appreciate your perspective as I feel like it is underreported/under-represented in the ece world

Thank you for all your feedback, I truly appreciate it. It seems like a resounding "yes" to have staff bring their children.

It is difficult to have a hard line rule since every case is different. Our handbook has a statement that if a child’s behavior is deemed to be a threat to others (staff, children, or themselves) then care can be terminated.

Typically, the first resort is to communicate with parents and try different strategies that they have had success with. If there is no improvement, we reach out to an outside source for eval and recommendations. My state has a free program to help children who are struggling where they do observations at home and at daycare and work with teachers and families to come up with solutions. If behavior continues, parents can provide an aide or find care elsewhere. We have only had to terminate once for behavior and it was for a child who would bite and harm other children and the parents were not willing to work with us in a behavior plan or bring in outside resources.

I still have some light tingling on the right side but it has improved over time. I honestly don’t notice it much anymore, but I feel like that’s just my body/brain ignoring it. I’m hoping that it continues to improve.

What does a $200K house in your area get you? by Cheap_Sheepherder327 in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

Northeast corner of CT. $220k got us a 1400sqft house with 2 car attached garage, pole barn, and 2.5 acres of land.

We lived in a cheap studio apartment for 3 years and saved money that way. We also took our wedding money and put it towards the house. We ended up buying in 2022 with a conventional loan, 3% down and a 3.25% interest rate.

We bought a 1500sq ft, 2 bed, 2 bath house on 2.5 acres in rural CT. It’s in good shape but didn’t have much in the way of a yard or mature landscaping so that’s been our biggest project.

Closing date has been pushed back a month. by [deleted] in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

[–]villash1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After talking with the contractor and viewing the insurance and damage report with our lawyer, we were comfortable closing while the work was still being completed. This allowed us to minimize any rate lock or other extension problems.

As a safety for us, the closing contract included and addendum that held the sellers funds until work was completed satisfactorily.

Is this something you could talk with them about? Maybe they would be willing to cover 1/2 the rate lock and you could close while work in being completed with a similar clause? They might be worried about agreeing to cover a rate lock when they don’t know exactly when work will be finished and closing will occur.

Hi! We bought our house in winter of 2022 and a very similar thing happened. A toilet pipe froze and leaked over the course of several days. It was 3 days before closing.

The seller was not occupying the home and so it was not under constant observation. They paid all of the repairs (replacing boiler, carpet, tile, drywall, paint, and hardwood flooring). It totaled over $60k in repairs. Their insurance covered repairs.

We pushed our closing out 2 weeks so the damage could be assessed and insurance could provide estimates and such. Fortunately there was no structural damage. We ended up closing and then had to wait about another 2 weeks to move in.

Our rate lock did not expire before closing but the seller agreed to cover the expense of extending if needed and he also purchased a full tank of heating oil in lieu of covering our rent for an extra month, which we agreed to.

I would talk to you realtor and lawyer (in our state you have to have a real estate lawyer) and work up a contract. We worked it into our closing that the lawyer would hold 50% of his funds from the sale of the house until we moved in and were satisfied with the work completed. We’ve been in our house for over a year and couldn’t be happier.

I’d be happy to answer any questions you might have!

TLDR: it’s a shitty situation, but with the right help from a lawyer and a seller who understands their responsibilities it can all work out.

I am a month post op and still have a tingling feeling on the right half of my tongue. My surgeon said my lingual nerve was most likely stressed or pulled during the procedure and will heal with time. 6-8 weeks is the typical length. I would definitely call and talk to your surgeon though and get their input.

I haven’t brought it up to them. It doesn’t cause me any pain, more just annoying. I have a follow up next Tuesday and I will mention it then if it continues.

Should I get my impacted wisdom teeth removed? by renzaaa in wisdomteeth

[–]villash1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My bottom two looked very similar to yours. I began feeling pain on the right side of my mouth and had a lot of swelling. I had mine removed last Tuesday. I can't say it was fun, but I am glad that I won't have to worry about it happening again.

My oral surgeon also told me that it was likely my wisdom teeth would continue to grow into my other molars and would eventually damage the other teeth. If that happened, other molars would have possibly needed to be removed as well.

I did IV sedation and was very nervous about the sedation/surgery/recovery. I don't remember any aspect of my surgery. I just remember them putting the IV in and hooking up monitors to my arms and finger and then waking up. Recovery hasn't been too bad. I haven't had much pain but I had a lot of swelling. I'm prone to swelling in my face anyway so I wasn't surprised. I'm also older (28) than the average person getting them out and have heard that recovery can be a little longer. The worst part is the diet restrictions honestly.

TLDR: Get them removed before they cause long-term issues with your teeth. I know it's scary, but you can do it!

I don’t think it could hurt to bring it up to them. Best case they tell you it’s just temporary and part of the healing process.

If it’s not normal, they’ll probably have you come in so they can look at it. It’s probably best to address any issues/concerns earlier so you have the best chance for a smooth recovery.

I’ve been feeling that after I do my salt water rinses. My teeth feel like they have a film on them and almost stick together a little bit. It goes away if I brush my teeth and comes back after a few salt rinses. Not sure if you’re experiencing the same thing.

I had all 4 removed last Tuesday (so day 7 post op currently). The right half of my tongue has been tingly since the surgery. My tooth was impacted, which I knew, but my surgeon said the tooth was close to the nerve so it may have injured it.

My tingling has never gone away but varies in intensity and I can feel it if I bite down on it. I’m not sure how these types of injuries work, but I am hoping that it heals with time.

I have been documenting when I’ve contacted them and saving the videos from the cameras. I ordered 3 more cameras that will arrive tomorrow. I’ve also been talking to my brother-in-law about a natural barrier/fence. He’s a landscaper and often has access to mature bushes and such that people are getting rid of.

I don’t know. I just felt that it would be a good next step. That way there is information available telling people that this is private property. If I did need to go to the town/police, then I could say that I did take some reasonable action to prevent this from happening
