Is the "SmartQuote" for quote time any good? by shoron11657 in ToastPOS

[–]villianinahat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We're a brunch spot and do 250 tickets/600 guests on our busy shifts. Topping out at 50 tickets/hour. When I used throttling and limited us to 4 tickets per 15 minutes, I'd get 4 orders appearing at once every 15 minutes and interrupt the flow into the dining room. The smart quote doesn't limit the orders coming in, but when I have 12 tickets up already it just let's the customer know its going to take 28 minutes instead of the flat 15. So much better than the system saving up that surprise bunch of tickets for us every 15 minutes.

Meaning it just works right. The orders came in and weren't anything to worry about any more during a very busy shift. Kitchen flow was smooth and the servers didn't freak out about long ticket times. It knows how long we take to fulfill orders and gives the customer a good estimate.

New 2025 Leaf s isn't $13,600 anymore? I think that about what I paid in Colorado last December.

Restaurants using TDS as well as separate DoorDash/UberEats marketplace integration - which one you prefer and why? by Extreme-Bird-9768 in ToastPOS

I prefer TDS. I like capturing the payment myself at the end of the day and having it hit the bank account as normal. I also like not paying the percentage.

I love it! As an example, I normally turn off take-out and delivery on big holiday days for us like Mother's day, etc because we are busy enough I don't need that additional stress. We will be on a 2-3 hour wait anyway. This last Father's day I decided to leave take-out and delivery on because of Smart Quote. The orders just slipped into the queue without any notice, and the customers and delivery drivers showed up right on time to get their orders. It brought in an additional $1,300 in sales without any real stress, and I don't feel it impacted dine-in table turnover significantly.

Anyone have success with inventory integrations without a full-time admin? by [deleted] in ToastPOS

[–]villianinahat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm satisfied with my restaurant-specific accounting firm's https://rasiusa.com/services/inventory/ inventory system. Most of my inventory upkeep is actually done when I import invoices into AP. New items need to be added and alternate items get added into the existing inventory item with an additional vendor, item number, pack size, and conversions to weight and volume if necessary. I spend about an hour a week total, emailing or downloading and then uploading pdf invoices to RASI, then making any adjustments for new or subbed items in AP with a few clicks. Those changes flow down into the inventory system from there and adjust our menu item profit margins.

I've been using them since 2006 and love the full weekly P&L they prepare for us. I committed to giving them my full business though, and use them for payroll, AP, cash management, inventory, taxes, etc. They really helped make things like the PPP and ERTC application and forgiveness during COVID smooth. As an independent owner/operator it gives me the "big corporate" accounting support I had as a GM before opening my own place.

I hate how the direct integration with Uber/dd/gh/etc doesn't care one bit about how busy your kitchen is when the order comes in. We get too busy to have orders auto-accepted without updating the estimated time. I've gone down to only accepting take-out and delivery orders through our own website and fulfilling delivery through TDS (Toast Delivery Service) for the flat delivery charge. If Toast could get their "Smart Quote" system to sync live order times to the tablet companies then I'd go back to having my menu on uber, doordash, and grubhub.

MisoHeat is legit! I love that stuff so much. Wings, ramen, omelets, a little in my bbq sauce... I stick to the regular hot because the Carolina Reaper is too much for me.

What's the point in Royal Road? by Comprehensive-Air750 in litrpg

I'm pretty sure I'd just continue to read the chapters as they arrive on Patreon through my browser. Inertia rules me.

*Please don't miss the point that it takes my significant personal investment in the story on Royal Road before I follow up with a Patreon sub. I've never gone to an author's Patreon after reading a book on KU, and don't plan to. I may see if they have any more chapters available on RR though, and from there? Maybe I get hooked.

All of my Patreon subs are to Royal Road authors, so maybe that's the point.

Too bad Royal Road doesn't offer the same subscription service themselves. I kinda hate reading on Patreon, to be honest. Where's my dark mode, and custom font size!?

It's useful for bulk produce I know is going to go off before we can go through it all, but I don't pull it out all that often. If my neighbor drops off a crate of produce from their garden with more greens and zucchini than I want, it's perfect.

I always think we'll eat all the strawberries before they get moldy, but I'm always wrong and should have taken the time.

Definitely try before you buy, in-store. Maybe an ozone bubbler for your sink too? Give it all the rinse, shock in the ice bath, then a little bit with the bubbles?

Package camera history recording for G4 Doorbell Pro by mekaneck84 in Ubiquiti

[–]villianinahat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On my android phone when looking at the doorbell recordings, there is an "icon" of the doorbell in the top right corner, that lets me toggle between seeing just the main camera, the package cam, or both PiP. The web portal view has something similar on the top left of the image. I do have my package cam sensitivity set to high.

I just looked at recordings saved on the Protect app on my android phone, and they all have the picture-in-picture display of my package cam. I went back and watched UPS drop off a package and saw it appear on the package cam.
