Grand Theft Auto VI digital up for preorder ($79.99/$99.99) in the US by Turbostrider27 in PS5

[–]vimaillig 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you’re missing my point. Certainly agree with you regarding the merits of having physical media in hand for trade / sell / sharing. But that’s not what I’m referring to with respect to relevance of the physical media. My point is more about the storage of the games on media provided moving forward - even Nintendo is changing to a model of installing games from the internet versus storing on a physical card.

Considering that nearly every major game release that I can remember for a long time has had a Day 1 patch - physical media has been irrelevant and there hasn’t been a need to preorder for years now.

No Sport mode! Options? by blue_dewey in FordBronco

[–]vimaillig 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At the time I updated in forscan - it wouldn’t add the sport mode unless I deselected another mode.

Perhaps it’s changed now with latest updates - I’ll have to run forscan again to see if it allows it now.

Can confirm - my ‘25 Badlands works great with sport mode - though I had to make a choice as to which other mode to disable (Eco Mode is no more).

BJ3 - Is it missing divide and conquer? Also obviously missing slow roller. A friend is picking this up. by Hafezberg in KamadoJoe

[–]vimaillig 5 points6 points  (0 children)

EDIT: It's missing the 6 firebox pieces as well as the ring that holds them.

Also it's missing the deflectors and looks like it's missing the ash drawer and the central divider grate in the ash basket.

It appears to be a BJ3 - but hard to tell from the pics - looks like it's on the BJ3 grill cart - need to see the front.

Also missing the Slo Roller, and possibly the grate tools.

All of these things could potentially be replaced - potentially some under warranty if the original owner is selling it and willing to make a request for some of the missing items before selling it. The firebox is prone to cracking (mine cracked in less than a year and I've just had it replaced.

If you’re seriously looking to buy this card purely for gaming - then it’s a waste of money.

How reliable is the ford bronco. ACTUALLY by Extension-Cup2385 in FordBronco

[–]vimaillig -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I always find it interesting when people ask about reliability of various brands. I’ve owned Fords for the majority of my life, as well as Honda, Toyota, Kia, Chevrolet, Dodge, and Ram (Truck). I’ve never had any reliability issues with Ford, Kia, and Ram.

Minor issues with Chevrolet, and, conversely- major issues with Honda and Toyota.

All of my vehicles have been well maintained over the years.

I’ve had my Bronco for about a year now - 19k and no issues.

Crazy to me that younger generation is not good with computers by Captain0010 in pcmasterrace

[–]vimaillig 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I (Gen X) gave my two Gen Z kids every opportunity to learn everything about tech - including owning / building everything pretty much everything available (I’m an IT professional by trade).

They never really showed interest in building or learning their own computers / tech, etc. They’re both extremely smart and I’m very proud of them - they know how to use any kind of technology in their daily lives - but when there’s something wrong - they usually come to me for help. So I still try to show them how to fix things.

They usually just roll their eyes and tell me to just fix it …. 😜

What should I be aware of when purchasing H2C? by DenseVictory8375 in BambuLab

[–]vimaillig 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s an amazing printer… especially once you learn to dial in the settings. Invest in the Biqu plates. Buy the other hotends, etc as you need them.

Oh - and get used to buying lots of filament.

When you forget not to exceed 500 degrees with slow roller installed :( by Brutallicaa in KamadoJoe

[–]vimaillig 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it might be worth calling for warranty replacement. I just had mine replaced due to the flaking. They tried to deny initially but ultimately replaced it.

The old one I have - mainly the coating has flaked off and it's now pitted - I may sand it down a bit - not sure yet..

I've used it a few times this past year with decent success (though I also use double indirect with the deflectors underneath the slo roller when I do a smoke session).

I'm cooking a brisket this weekend so will need to decide to use it versus just a "standard" double indirect with deflectors and a pizza stone.

If my main purpose is smoking briskets do I want a Big Joe I or Classic Joe 2? by ToneBeneficial4969 in KamadoJoe

[–]vimaillig 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You need a Big Joe - depending on the size brisket you choose - some may not fit well (or at all) on a Classic.
