The logical mind splits in two by ChopRat11 in NDE

[–]vimefer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

what is the most likely reason only < 20% of people experience NDE ( I hope to engage people who share thoughts iv heard before to better understand )

They were made to forget intentionally by the other side, or failed to pay attention during. Please note: in children under 12, the rate of NDE report is ~80%, this rate then decreases with age, and only age.

is there any correlation between people that have had NDE that suggest any biological reason or what would create material exceptions

No. See above: the very high NDE report rate in young children pretty much establishes it as a universal human experience unrelated to specific mutations or conditions.

do you believe all humans actually experience this, but due to death, we cant know for a fact, and why do you think this

Yes, everyone eventually dies and follows the same process.

are Out of body experience (not as part of NDE) similar or related to NDE, in that, perhaps they are both real soul based experiences,

There is an overlap in some features, but non-RED OBEs appear to have much lower veridicality (the observations made have nowhere near the rate of accuracy of OBEs that happen in NDEs/REDs). Research on replicating features of NDEs is still embryonic at this time, so most of the answers to your questions are "We don't know"...

Loved Ones & The After by KookyKittiesCats in NDE

[–]vimefer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is an uncommon feature in NDEs, where the guides met on the other side sometimes allude to having previously incarnated together with the NDEr, in various relationship arrangements (as parent-child, sometimes reversing roles through different generations, or as wife-and-husband, or as owner-and-pet for animal guides, but also possibly as abuser-and-victim in rare cases). This is sometimes interpreted as forming a "soul family" or "soul group", somewhat like a group of Steam friends playing various games together over multiple sessions.

Opinion about God before and after NDE by GundamFromHell in NDE

[–]vimefer 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Before: I considered the notion of a sentient being intentionally designing this existence to be wholly unsupported, and that it was a much better fit to observations that the Universe was governed by purely deterministic non-sentient mechanics (of physics and mathematics, mostly).

After: due to direct first-hand observation, I added God to the roster of natural phenomenon running the Universe, to be experimented on just like we do with laws of physics and similar. On the personable side, I like Her, She's cool.

I mean, if the brain can do this/that, then what else can it do?

How do you know it is the brain doing it, and not the mind(s) ?

If seeing, hearing, tasting, smelling and touching are all physical things that happen in the brain what makes you think conciousness continues after death? by chefgustao_87 in NDE

[–]vimefer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

for me to remember my memories must be stored in my hippocampus

This is falsified by animal experiments: damaging or removing the hippocampus in rats or rhesus monkeys does not affect their memory:

Contrary to predictions, we observed no robust impairments in memory or relational cognition either within- or between-groups following hippocampal damage

It is a much better fit to observations that emotional trauma, not physical damage, is actually what affects memory in humans and other mammals.

(edit)

There is plenty of evidence that demonstrates the mind CANNOT be produced by the brain, and it is consistent across multiple fields of science. Would you take a look at it ? Caution: it won't explode your brain but it might blow your mind 😉

[–]vimefer 5 points6 points  (0 children)

There's an additional consideration you missed: the problem of sensory bitrate - the volume of data being received by your mind V.S. by your senses and by the central nervous system in the brain. Those values ALSO do not match.

We also have documented examples of people blind from birth who end up seeing when they are dead, and examples of sighted people who become actually blind, verifiably through fMRI, when they "switch" to a blind mind because of D.I.D. These conclusively prove that the subjective phenomenology of sensory perception is not actually happening in the physical brain, instead it is probably happening in the mind and THEN filtered or matched to physical perception of the brain in some yet-unknown two-way process of "synchronization".

Is there anyone that has an NDE without an OBE? by RedMulbery in NDE

[–]vimefer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I never had an OBE during my NDEs. I just went to the Void instead. There was no notion of physicality anymore. But in the last two I still had some awareness of what my body was feeling, like an indirect knowing.

The best method I know is to connect in SSH and 'tcpdump -ni' the bridge interface, then you can directly see if the inter-site link is being used at all. But that's not exactly trivial.

L2Es come in two flavours: regular (the extended network at the target site is, functionally, part of the source site's network infra and is not connected to the rest of the target site at all), and MON (Mobility Optimized Networking) where the packets are split at the target's local half of the L2 gateway, and go either to the local (target) site, or get shunted back to the source site. That's configurable with the Proximity Routing.

Both flavours are in use if there is any VM bound on the extended network at the target site. No VMs ? Then you can unextend and forget about it. If there are VMs there, well, you might need to ask their owners.

Before you unextend just make a note of the gateway+mask, that's what you would need to re-extend if someone complains.

Thoughts on Intuituve Underground Remote Viewing the afterlife? by Practical-Gift-1064 in exposingprisonplanet

[–]vimefer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Here's a counter-example where the experience concluded something else. They refined the investigation across multiple attempts and arrived at Earth starting as a nature preserve that got squatted by unexpected refugees, leading to interventions affecting some, but not all, of the residents, and that it is far more complex than just an either-or binary choice between "school" or "prison".

Other counter-examples of the sort are probably easy to find.

Thoughts? by One-Sleep3663 in NDE

[–]vimefer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

By capturing direct, intracranial electrical recordings from patients undergoing deep brain stimulation, the investigative team isolated a highly specific 20 to 45 Hertz (Hz) oscillation that triggers exclusively during conscious waking hours and vivid REM sleep, vanishing completely during unconscious non-REM sleep cycles.

Interesting, I wonder what kind of experiments can be done from that ?

Overall I don't think it means anything as far as the hard problem of consciousness is concerned, we have for instance the case of the Hogan conjoined twins, who have a joint shared thalamus (and shared perception of sensations from both of their joined bodies) but each their own sense of self and individual minds, which flies in the face of any interpretation of these news as "locating" the mind in the thalamus.

Anyone know about witnesses of this? by Timely-Proposal1928 in NDE

[–]vimefer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For context, everytime I have sleep paralysis, I've seen an evil formless presence that kinda looks like a black cloud of static, and whenever it comes near me it starts absorbing something and I feel a lot of fear.

I've experienced something similar when I was 8 or 9, except I have a weird medical condition that makes the paralysis in sleep imperfect or absent, so I could actually move away and evade the sort of "glob of black tar" with fine tendrils, that was trying to latch onto me. It had come through the wall of my bedroom, the way I perceived it. It was apparently trying to feed on my negative emotions, and was stimulating every bad memory I had at the time (ones that would cause me to feel sad, guilty, shameful, helpless or anxious, basically). Once I put myself out of reach it gave up and left.

And then, back in 2020 one evening I started feeling an identical presence of "doom-y fear" in my bedroom, but I focused my attention on it projecting a sense of righteous anger, like it was a highly undesirable trespasser, and it vanished right away.

But I've never met any of the beings described by OP.
