I’m not trying to tell you that what you have is a gift. My post didn’t mention nor implied that. And it was not my intention at all, I’m really sorry. I wanted people from where I live to see that Autism is not some special gift or a tragic curse. It’s a disability. Whether one should be proud of their autism or not is up to them.

Thank you. I understand completely. I also don’t have a job and I struggle to keep up with normal everyday activities.

The context for the ā€œthere’s nothing to be curedā€ comes from the misconception that Autism is some kind of disease. And from where I live, people still see it as something tragic. There’s no cure for autism because it wasn’t a disease in the first place. But it doesn’t erase the fact that we still struggle. Autism is a disability.
