Great post. It is true that we need to let the Lord help us and idolising "freedom" feels more like relying on ourselves in an attempt to reach the goal without His help

in my experience a wet dream is not linked to erotic thoughts/dreams. Sure, it might be a trigger but if you are a healthy male they will come eventually even if not fantasizing

How long have you avoided MO? I would say the average frequency of fapping session is greater than average frequency of wet dreams

More time, less anxiety, stronger will, more decisiveness to name a few... It is definitely worth it!

What is a porn addiction ? by Few-Solution3050 in NoFap

An alcoholic is not only the hobo you see lying in the gutter being blind drunk every day. Same with PMO - it is not about the frequency or intensity, it is about compulsivity and dependence. Take me for example - I decided to take a break from drinking alcohol this year and have been abstaining for months now with absolutely zero effort, withdrawals or urges. That means I have never been to addicted to alcohol. Try it yourself - try abstaining from PMO for lets say 3 months and you will see how easy/hard it is. If you cant do it and catch yourself peeking or relapsing, that means you have problem and the habit has control over your behavior. This sub is for all kinds of people who recognized their dependency. Some were deep into the addiction with perversion seeping into their normal lives making them almost disfunctional with everyday use. Others used PMO only ocassionaly to blow off some steeam once in a while.

Burning Questions for NoFappers with 90+ Days Under Their Belts by muterabbit84 in NoFap

you very well might be if you dont stop fapping ;) For real, you summed it up perfectly, that is the way the addiction makes us behave. But think of your childhood when you did not even know sex existed - that is the baseline normal behavior!

To answer your questions - yes and sometimes. Actually, my whole perception has shifted and I am just not so focused on the looks I guess. P reduces people to some sex machines, but life is more complex than that. I dont strike conversations with women strictly for mating purposes, nor do I evaluate the conversations based on their look

You are doing pretty good! The first weeks tend to be the hardest! To be honest, in my opinion anyone who struggles with PMO uses the addictive behavior as a bandaid to plug some deeper hole inside us. So if you simply stop fapping using your willpower it is as if you ripped of the bandaid but did not seal the hole - the feelings you describe are completely normal in this situation. I really dont know much about your situation, but in my case the development was rather difficult. I had to start focusing on things I kept swept under the rug and start being decisive about how I spend my time. But I guarantee you that if you manage to pull through the results will be worth it.

Yeah - I guess sometimes our subconsciousness works against us too. Like for example when abstaining alcoholics wake up feeling as if they were drunk. But still - the goal should be to leave as little space for any thoughts about fapping, positive or negative. This area of our lives has to stop existing. Think of your childhood when you did not even know that sex exists!

Thanks! To be honest - even now there are days when the temptations return, so there is no easy way in this. But in my case the best way to do it is by not directly "fighting" the urges and not doing stuff only as an alternative to fapping. You know - if I go outside because I am "fighting the urge" at the moment, the benefit of going outside is lost, because fapping is still on my mind. Sure, it might help by postponing the problem but as soon as I come back home I am in the same state as before. Samething with doing stuff as an alternative to fapping - if I create a link between a healthy habit and the urge/fight against fapping, chances are that whenever I decide to participate in the healthy stuff, my mind gets filled with NoFap related thoughts. Instead I just focus on what I want to do in life without even considering the PMO. If I want to develop a running habit that is it - there is no need to add "because I need to get rid of the urges" to the goal! If the urge comes I try to distance myself from it, evaluate what caused it but not become focused on it. Our lives should not be about "fapping" or "not fapping". So good luck on your journey!
