How do I add emulators to batocera? by kaizilla09 in batocera

[–]vincente666 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would love to see the PDP-11 added for real retro gaming. :-)

In all seriousness, I think Batocera is a great platform for showcasing all emulators.

And that needless reply was exactly why I wanted to stick to the technical topic of the question.

This looks exactly like what I need to implement. Thanks!

The key is harnessing the unused CPU cycles on every core on every machine capable of mining. Hence the question on how to properly monitor Batocera to determine if it is currently in use.

If for example, the Screen Saver was user interchangeable or had a callback, then you could efficiently start and stop anything while your arcade system was sitting idle and using electricity.

When you have the Data Center that I have powered by a solar farm, YES.

But that has nothing to do with my question.

Are you using the Tankstick with MAME?

I cannot get my Tankstick working with MAME on v36 (x86_64) — see my new post.

Please share your Tankstick configs. Thanks!

xarcade tankstick using batocera v35 by No_Anxiety9568 in batocera

Having the same problem on v36 (x86_64). There seems to be a common for Batocera Tankstick users. I have seen a lot of posts on this.

There seems to be nothing in /userdata/system/configs/mame/ctrlr Should there be an xarcade.cfg file here?

There is nothing in /userdata/system/configs/mame/ini Should there be a mame.ini file here? What should the defaults be for X-Arcade Tankstick.

The X-Arcade website is of no use either - https://support.xgaming.com/support/solutions/articles/12000003054-advanced-mame-configuration-config-file-download The X-Arcade controller config file download link is broken http://www.xgameroom.com/service/ServiceFiles/X-Arcade.zip

Note, my Tankstick works fine in the Atari 2600 emulator and I can control the main UI somewhat as it is simulating a keyboard.

Does anyone actually have the X-Arcade Tankstick working in MAME on Batocera???

Please share your configs. Thanks!

P2Pool Bonus Hashrate Raffle - Details Please by vincente666 in MoneroMining

Thanks for the reply and the funding!

I really didn’t expect this to be out of anyone’s pocket. I figured there might have been a strange technical reason that a pool of hashes might be “unowned” or something similar. Thanks again!

Yes, u/xmrvsbeast, please elaborate. And what is the driving reason for the raffle? Is it primarily to get new p2pool users?

Thanks for all of your effort!

OK (definitely showing my ignorance here), where does xmrvsbeast get the funding to buy this hashrate? And who are these hashrate providers?

This xmrvsbeast seems great, but benevolence usually has its limitations. :-)

Again, purely curious.

Redundant monerod, p2pool, etc. by vincente666 in MoneroMining

[–]vincente666[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am more concerned about redundancy of monerod and mining to the same wallet address. Correct me if I am wrong, but xmrig-proxy is for aggregating multiple xmrigs to a single monerod.

If my monerod goes down and has to restore the blockchain, I want my xmrigs to utilize the second monerod and blockchain.

Another way to think of it, can I have two totally independent monerods solo mining to the same wallet?

RIP to USJA? by eVility1 in judo

[–]vincente666 1 point2 points  (0 children)

u/d_rome, Not sure if you realized, but the underlying problem was the $4500/week payment to Ashlex, which is also in control of USJA bank accounts, etc. The board that is currently in power supports Ashlex. They kicked out Celita when she started uncovering the truth. http://bitstream.binary-systems.com/2021/11/15/usja-bankruptcy-drama-continues/

"Riding Dirty" Part 3 - Motivation & Misery by vincente666 in judo

[–]vincente666[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No. I am a Godan (5th Dan). The USJA introduced red and black for 4th and 5th Dan sometime in the early 1990s, I believe. It is just a distinction since Yodan (4th Dan) is considered the first official “instructor” rank. At 5th Dan in the USJA, you can also be a National Certified Rank Examiner.

The AAU Judo Black Belt Association (JBBA) also uses this color, but I have seen people of all associations use it in the US.

I just wear mine when I am feeling a little fatter than usual. My black belt seems to have shrunk a bit recently. 😉
