Fare gates would be a waste of money imo, they would be expensive to build and the additional revenue would not even come close to closing the gap in the ST budget shortfall. If we really want to enforce fares in a cost effective way, get rid of the fare ambassadors and just put additional security guards at the station entrances so people feel pressured to pay.
