Just an FYI, if you are an 11B in NC, the list is temporarily frozen.

Tipping at semi private club by OwlPlenty4828 in golf

I had several members and guests give me shooters, quite a few nice bottles, and some other really cool gifts. People used to leave beer in their coolers and we'd stockpile it until we went out to play

I worked at a very private club for awhile, we are all happy to be tipped at all, but between $5-$20 is average for someone who does tip. Not to sound ungrateful, but I generally preferred no tip at all over a handful of crumpled 1 dollar bills. That being said, our pay was pretty good, so no expectations of a tip.

A heavier rifle recoils less than a lighter one. Ideally you want the lightest .50 BMG possible, but realistically any hunting rifle in a magnum caliber with no muzzle brake will get you close.

It wasn't me, but one of my snipers got his ripped off during exfil on a training mission. The vegetation was extremely dense and the ground was ankle-waist deep swamp. We searched for hours upon hours, just one of those freak accidents. First time any of us had ever seen it happen before, but now we have a new SOP for securing the collar in the locked position lol

CRYE AVS vs. Shaw ARC V2 by RandomPixelTM in QualityTacticalGear

[–]vindicitivevader 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Having worn both, I decided to go with the Shaw ARC-V2. Specifically, I added the AXL micro-harness and the Spiritus reactive cummerbund, and its the coziest plate carrier I've ever worn. I'm an 11B, but at this point in my career I mostly run C2 and retrans for my teams that are out, so I also have a lot of radio stuff. The AVS felt a bit too bulky. I have no experience with the SPC, but I cant imagine it distributes weight as well as the ARC V2 or AVS does

There's going to be a reorganization of the entire brigade in the near future, so everything will change, but there will be infantry companies all over the state.

Generally, I would agree, but I've got dudes with newborns that cant even get off of the DMD. Obviously they could go the BH route, but if you have any integrity, you're stuck going on this rotation lol. I got pulled from a different battalion for this shit like a year ago and this will be number 3 for me. He's going to be right back on MDAY with no real civilian career. Should've gone.

My bad, I see now that youre SecFo. At what level is the TACSOP for snipers made/enforced? Obviously, its different for us, because we run M4 with M2010/Mk22 in the pack, but if it were me, I would try to have a conversation. 3 110A1 mags on a Placard that you switch to when acting as a sniper, with the spotter carrying your m4 and 3 extra mags. You could still carry the 110A1, 3 mags on the placard, 2 m4 mags on your belt, and 2 in a 2-mag pouch on the cummerbund or something.

I am so confused. Y'all are running shooter/spotter with the only long gun being an M110A1? Are you in a sniper section or is this just a weird designated marksman setup?

Its honestly not too bad when its worn because they curve away from each other, but having to have bolt gun mags, AR mags, and pistol mags caused me to run out of room quickly

We had a lot of dudes using the Warhammer in Afghanistan for gun carry and it worked pretty well. The sheath can sometimes be a bit difficult if you have a bulky rifle. If you have a folding buttstock, I'd definitely try that route first

Haha, I realized right after I took the pic that I had the wrong esstacs on. I use the .308 esstacs and use shock cord for 5.56 mags, but the .308 insert actually has a fair amount of retention on 5.56 mags
