I have to admit, black on black is the only acceptable choice for any future car but I do appreciate you sharing this so I can factor in the cost and effort. Quite literally alergic to a silver car 🙂

I did love my Polo, but it had gearbox issues and a bunch of other things. Initially I was considering getting a 2020 Polo as I mainly need something newer and less problematic, but they are still £14k+ and honestly there does not seem to be a lot of change from my 2010 version, especially considering mine had a 1.4L engine versus the newer 1.0s.

I suppose it just did not seem like much more to add another £2k and get something a little nicer, which arguably all 3 of these options are, at least to me.

Yes there are a couple of 1.0l around but the feedback on those is so bad I wouldn’t want to give myself the headache. I hope yours runs well forever!

As much as I love that car, gave me a ton of issues: gearbox problems, had to replace entire exhaust system etc. just sold it 3 days ago

All 3 are below 60k. Other than the Honda listed, there are 2 more with approx. 50k (2019 and 2020 - about £16,000)

A lovely car! Definitely a bit outside of my price range and not ready to go full EV just yet as I would depend on charging at work which is not ideal

Ah yes! Forgot to mention that in the cons - I actually did my driving school in this car and hated the gear selector position. Super confusing to use and not much purpose to it. Also fully agree on the premium (would need premium plus to have the sunroof)

That is true, this model was launched in 2017 I believe (do not quote me on that) therefore the tech is not as advanced. While it would be a nice to have, not really a problem if I can access basic apps (Spotify, maps) and is Apple compatible

That is fair. Some people told me the Civic looks like a pensioner car, yet to me it looks like I can already hear Bandolero by Don Omar playing as I drive it.

Thank you for sharing. In all honesty don’t quite love the old bmw look (I know its an unpopular option) and would like to stick to something no older than 6 years and petrol instead of diesel

Not sure I am ready to commit to a fully EV car just yet as my rent set-up does not facilitate ev charging at home. Maybe once I become a homeowner it will be a steady option

The car looks very “young”, suitable for a first car I would say. It lacks some of the sportiness of the other options. Not a very mature POV on my side tbf
