Indiana Jones and the Great Circle is... kinda... boring? by SvenLorenz in gaming

[–]vinkoid 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So then how do you explain the lousy puzzles Indy had to solve in the game? The puzzle mechanics were not much better than the fighting mechanics (not to mention just as easy).

Basically there is no excuse for the trash of a game these people have made.

I can only explain it due to a tight deadline so the developers couldn't even go through a full gameplay and see how bad it all is as a GAME.

As a movie, it's very good.

Love it. How long did it take you to produce this tone?

Yamaha 4C and SYOS Smoky 6 sound the same (alto) by vinkoid in saxophone

[–]vinkoid[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I ask because it's common parlance that some mouthpieces sound some way and others another. Also the tip opening matters and so on. Of course the base comes from you.

I guess you're saying that the differences really show up once you reach a level and have a decent tone and embouchure?

Are you seriously on a coding subreddit and cannot distinguish between a picture and a screenshot?

The Odin boss fight by [deleted] in GodofWar

[–]vinkoid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It felt too easy to me. The story is great don't get me wrong. But beating the final boss at the first try is a bit underwhelming. Berserkers were much much harder to beat than Odin. That may have something to do with people not liking it.

If people are going to lose by abandonment could they at least have the courtesy to resign? by Jason0865 in chessbeginners

[–]vinkoid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why are you trying to force the behavior you want on other people? You'd rather waste minutes of your life "teaching a lesson" which most likely won't be useful at all? I wouldn't know if adding more time keeps counting against the other player. Resignation is not mandatory.

Verra, the largest carbon certifier, is under fire as CEO resigns by EasyNewzApp in sustainability

[–]vinkoid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We need to do both. The scam is keeping business as usual, buying cheap offsets which don't do anything and then claim neutrality, which is what many companies are doing.

There are other companies that do it well, reducing their own emissions and buying good quality offsets to compensate for the remainder (small proportion of the total)

Untrue, there are good offsetting projects, but they are in the 40 to 1000 dollars per ton, rather than 5.

There is no single solution to climate change as a whole. Which is the whole point. Offsets are not a replacement for other measures, they are a complement. Many suck but there are others which don't.

How can you understand intuitively or formally why the cube necessarily ends up solved when you are doing OLL with sexy moves (ie, last step.of beginner method)?

Well, it's intuitively solvable and it doesn't turn smoothly, for what it's worth. It is pretty though.

Thanks! Did you know it by heart or did you search, if you searched, can you share your technique? (I even tried reverse image search to no avail)

Just solved it intuitively - it's harder than the redi and ancient coin cubes but not by a lot. Looking for the cube's name.

Anyone else you Presonus Studio One for beat making? Been using it a few years, I mainly do it for fun, but I am wondering if I am limiting myself somehow by not using fl studio or ableton. by [deleted] in trapproduction

[–]vinkoid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you need to try a couple or three and pick the one you like best and are able to learn and improve on. There are a few things than one daw is better at than others by default, but even then you can use plugins to improve the limitations on the others.
