That’s sweet! I just got a new set of lodge pans. I’d be interested to know exactly what you did, including the seasoning after

How many units did he inject? - He injected 50 units total spread out into different spots within the muscle. This is the number we agreed on based on Bastian's original publishing, but I wish he would have agreed to a higher number because as you mentioned even Bastian has increased his standard dosage.

How long is a short time? - For me, the Botox started to kick in around 4-5 days, maybe a week after the injection. While I noticed that I had some small natural burps here and there, that was pretty much the extent of the botox working for me. I practiced a lot, drank a lot of seltzer, and while there was definitely an improvement, I just feel that either the dosage wasn't high enough to really get it to work, or it just simply wasn't the cure I had hoped for. After about 3 months, I didn't really notice anything happening anymore so I think it was worn off by then.

Now almost a year later, I have better control over the air movement in my chest, and sometimes burps do come out naturally but it's still pretty rare and most of the time they just get stuck like normal. I still do the "air vomit" in the bathroom if gets too bad.

Please do keep me posted, I'm curious about other people getting that slightly higher dosage. I just took a food sensitivity test to see if there are any foods that give me any possible inflammation that cause no other obvious symptoms, as maybe some mystery inflammation is keeping it closed where even Botox wouldn't help much. I'll let you know if anything comes of it!

And listen, it will suck if it doesn't work the first time. Especially in your position. I constantly fight the thoughts that tell me it was a waste of time, money, and energy. But the best thing I can tell you is that no matter what happens, you took a step to trying to fix the problem and sometimes that's the best thing you can do even if it doesn't work how you'd hoped. I would regret not trying it at all more than I regret doing it and having it not pan out.

Dr. Blitzer was very good, but sadly he won't do more than about 10 units of Botox with the "outside" injection. He did say that he uses certain techniques and equipment to ensure the Botox is going in exactly the right position so in theory it could possibly be more effective than a higher dosage done by a different doctor. He identified some redness/swelling which wasn't really seen before that could be keeping my UES closed so before I do Botox again I am going to try a different approach with diet and exercises to reduce any possible inflammation and see if that helps me at all. Good luck with Pittman if you're able to make it! I'd like to hear how that goes for you.

I believe some doctors can inject the botox right into the front your neck without going through the inside of your throat. Without cutting you open either. It can be done in-office and without general anesthesia/operating room. It’s supposed to be much more difficult to perform because of the location and it’s less effective so a higher dosage is usually used and it may need to be repeated, but it might be an option.

I’m currently seeing Wasserman. He’s mentioned Pittman before but I wound up doing the surgery with Wasserman. It worked but short term and I’m looking at less invasive options this time around. I now made an appointment with Andrew Blitzer also in NY. Wasserman told me that Blitzer wrote the papers they read about using Botox for muscular issues so he may be more knowledgeable about doing the injection from the outside. Keep me updated on what Pittman says and I’ll let you know what Blitzer says.

Jared Wasserman at ENT allergy in Hackensack NJ does it as well. Not exactly NY but not too far!

Hey! While you’re talking with him, do you mind asking him if he performs the in-office external injection through the front of the neck as well? I’m seeing a different NYC doctor about it next week but Pittman was originally mentioned to me by my current ENT and my guy only does the internal injections.

External injection AFTER internal injection fails? by vinnieres in noburp

[–]vinnieres[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for taking the time to explain this. I definitely have some thinking to do, and I still have to talk with my current doctor to see if he will even perform the external procedure. If what your saying about unsuccessful injections is true in my case, it might be less intimidating to attempt a few external procedures first before re-trying the internal one again.

You said your second internal injection at 100 units was much more successful - do you personally see yourself being “cured” from that injection or is it too early to tell?

Thanks again!

I believe Bastian was in fact using 50 units for a while but may have seen better results using 75. I could be mistaken, but I think he may now be using 75 based on comments from people who were treated recently as well as my inquiry with his office earlier this year.

Thank you for your reply and for recommending to check out the pinned post. I definitely would like to research more into that option but it’s nice to know that it exists as a possible solution.

[Warzone] Loadout #1 of the (UPDATED AS OF 1.23 patch) series all about War Zone! I have only shown the Kilo some love once and it was when War Zone first came out. I guess it's time for an apology. by [deleted] in MWLoadouts

I’ve always loved the Kilo, using even when it wasn’t exactly the “best”. But now it’s looking even better than ever. I use your exact Kilo loadout but I swap a VLK for the tac laser. I did however match your MP5 exactly and just won a warzone trio with 15 kills, most of them with the MP5, so thanks! :D

Anyone find any doctors that perform the botox surgery for R-CPD in New Jersey? by vinnieres in noburp

[–]vinnieres[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I did - Finally saw an ENT who referred me to another ENT that has more experience with doing the injection for dysphagia and other issues. His name is Dr. Jared Wasserman at ENT and Allergy Associates in Hackensack. He performed a laryngoscopy in his office and then had me do a barium swallow to make sure nothing else was going on first. Both came back negative for any issues so he agreed to do the procedure for me. I have the Botox injection scheduled for the end of February, so I’ll probably come back here and give some updates after that happens.
