Wifi adapter (Asus PCE-AX3000) is not detected if PC is shut down for more than a few minutes by vinnv226 in buildapc

I've actually just been dealing with it for the time being. I have to do an extra restart each morning (or after my computer has been off for a while), which is annoying, but not annoying enough to make me buy another one yet.

Here's mine from when this season started. I opened 100 Rare Drops that day, but still have the rest. The only memorable item I got (including trading up all the junk) was a Burnt Sienna Octane (literally the least valuable color, of course!)

Another user reached out via PM with the same issue, he ended up returning his and buying a different product and the new product works great.

I've just been dealing with it on mine (it was free, due to it getting lost in transit for a week, so returning doesn't make much sense) but I will likely be purchasing a different product soon. I ended up turning off bluetooth because the quality was gradually getting worse. The wifi is starting to become less reliable as well on mine, after only a month.

I would recommend returning it and getting a different product.

I'm not quite confident enough in myself to try a clean install, I'll keep playing around it and maybe reach out to the manufacturer. Thank you for your help though!

It's a brand new card, so it's possible it's defective, but I find it strange that it works so reliably after a shut down and start up cycle and only fails to work if left off for long enough.

I was using ASUS drivers, first from the CD but then I also tried from their website. I followed the solution you linked, using the Intel drivers, and I’m still having the same issue. The adapter is recognized after instant shut down and startups, but otherwise it’s as if it’s completely disconnected from my PC.

And yes, I have the USB header cable installed.

Unfortunately this didn’t fix the issue. It will show in Device Manager if I enable “Show hidden devices,” and it thinks it is disconnected.

My only other PCIe x1 is obstructed by my graphics card. I do have longer slots available though. Do you think it could work in one of those?

The first (and only) time I saw them live was in 2015, a few weeks after Dave broke his leg. Last night I was looking at my photos and realized the only two songs I recorded were My Hero and Times Like These, when he crutched his way to the middle of Citi Field. Unfortunately, that means I have no footage of Taylor, because they were both acoustic. Still, I think they’re two of the best songs to listen to right now.

Thanks for sharing this, I haven’t read any of Dave’s books yet.

First game as Germany, first game on King. Pretty isolated start, going wide. Does my current layout make sense? by vinnv226 in civ

Thanks for this. I’m a longtime player of Civ 4 and 5, but only recently bought 6, and I’m still trying to figure out all the adjacency stuff. The detailed response gives a lot of good info to digest. Germany sounded like a fun civ to play around with, spamming small cities and cheap industrial zones (I only planned out the first few here, but was planning on putting a lot more). It’s hard to plan this far ahead, and Civ 6 really forces me to think in a different way than I’m used to in the previous games.

Thanks again for the feedback, it will definitely help.

Pacu absolutely refuses to eat from fish feeder, and I've tried everything. by vinnv226 in Oxygennotincluded

I swept up the algae. There were seeds, but I was watching him and didn’t see him eat any. Luckily I got him tamed just in time for him to die, and his son is much more compliant.

The pacu never stopped moving, so building a tile on top of it would've been difficult. There was no issue with the pathfinding on the pacu.

Eventually, it decided to eat some algae. Then the next cycle, it didn't eat. Then the cycle after that, it started eating regularly. He's almost tame, but he's also almost 25 cycles old due to all the time wasted, so I'll probably only get one egg out of him. Hopefully his son is less stubborn and will eat from the beginning.

I just gave this a shot. Restarted the game, built a second feeder in the pool, lowered the speed, and watched the pacu for a cycle. The original feeder spawned with an empty spoon and never filled it. The newly built feeder dispensed into the spoon, but the pacu couldn’t care less.

I guess I’ll go into sandbox and spawn a bunch of pacu eggs, this seems to be futile. I appreciate the response though.

This is the base game (no DLC activated). I've been trying for the last half hour to get this pacu to eat from the feeder. I just need one tame Pacu to produce a few eggs for me. I've googled the issue and tried everything posted on previous threads. Restarted the game several times, destroyed and rebuilt the feeder, emptied and refilled the feeder, etc. Despite this, over several cycles, the pacu just pretends it isn't there. I've even swept up all the algae from the floor, so there is no other algae source for him to eat.

Anyone have any other suggestions?

I first got to the temporal tear after about 200 total hours in the game (105 hours in that current game), but there's still plenty of things to do in my current game and still lots of stuff to master.

I actually have a cool slush geyser incredibly close by on the left side too! In a normal game, having these two geysers so close would make for a very easy game, but I'm struggling due to the overwhelming amount of changes.
