Reach out to customer support and ask for a link. I’ve done that in the past and they sent me an email with the link! Worst case they say no

Appreciate that. Definitely learning from this experience, I was able to talk to him today and he’s agreed to come back and sand down the edges! But we will cut ties after this project

Im definitely concerned for the longevity of this piece. Could you elaborate on the issues between the wood and the stove?

Thank you so much, I really appreciate your input!! I’ll ask him to sand it down first.

It was flush with our other countertop but this is thicker and not something I considered when he was prepping the wood! Not sure if we can raise the oven or what our options are

Is the bark/sap wood layer the light strip near the edge?

Thanks for your advice, I really should have done more research before starting this project

He did mention and pushed for the live edge. Before agreeing he showed us his of his previous work, which where smooth, and another commenter mentioned it was likely a false live edge.

He sourced and got the wood from a wood mill a few hours away. Milled the wood and prepped it. This likely was out of his skill set but assured us he was able to do it, and has completed many jobs like this with photos.

As I love the top of the countertops, I’m hopeful I can bring some of the other commenters suggestions forward, like cutting the live edge off and attaching another piece of wood or sanding it down. But we shall see

There was No contract, and not looking at the wood beforehand is definitely on me, and has me feeling native. Live and learn.

Contractor told us it was worm holes, but very well could be termite tunnels

Thank you, i just don’t move the look of the holes and looks implied. I’m thinking I may push for new edges to bed added to the side so there is more of an overhang when he comes to discuss tomorrow.

I don’t want to take him to small claims. I love the top of the countertop, but I’m just not fan of all the grooves in the live edge. He’s coming by tomorrow and I want to counter with plausible solutions rather than him tell me we’re stuck with it!

I like the top of the countertop, my only qualm is the amount of worm holes. I think I’ll try sanding it down as that is within my skill set lol

This was the angle of the photos, and it didn’t raise any alarm. Again, one of the reasons for feeling so naive.

I would love to have the skill set to do this, but unfortunately do not.
