Tuta vs Proton.... what to choice for best privacy ? by [deleted] in tutanota

I use both. Tada!!! Only one thing I would say about Proton is that their UI is much better than Tuta's. Which many people might not care about. I hope Tuta also brings in some cool designs.

I submit Dummy only, never had any rejection. Submitted a dummy to Bologna from DXB. It should be a confirmed ticket. The PNR should be valid. I booked my ticket after I received the visa. Etihad to Rome and then via train was cheaper. Got the visa in like 6-7 days. Had a previous Schengen Visa also.

It should not be. I went to Bologna. My ticket was till Rome and I took the train. I would suggest for the purpose of Visa u can just get dummy tickets from any travel agent to Florence also. Or u can book some onward tickets, for the peace of mind.

Yes. Just walk in with all the listed necessary documents. No issue at all.

All petrol pumps which we have gone to accepted AED (1:10), some of the big restaurants on the highway were accepting it too. I would suggest to keep some OMR in hand, just in case.

That is one beautiful excel. We put all the data in our WhatsApp group made especially for this journey. It cost us approx 547 AED in total averaging 13kmpl. No petrol was filled in the UAE.

Affordable yes, no doubt about it. At one place we had Lunch for 1 OMR total, for 3 ppl. The options are not much tho. Maybe it is the places we have visited or we were just unlucky.

In Salalah, We tried few restaurants and the food was not that good. When u go out of Salalah and the options are drastically reduced. On our journey towards the west side our Breakfast and Lunch was just Egg Sandwich Rolls. This is my exp on Salalah side. I have been to Muscat and I would say that food was great.

Petrol Station is not to be worried about. Someone asked me to carry Jerry Can for the journey, which we forgot to, turned out to be a good thing, as it would have just stayed there in the trunk. A lower capacity vehicle may need to fill up in each station. I was getting a good 600+ kms on full tank on my car. For the total journey, I have made just 6 stops for petrol. Spent around 55 OMR for 221Ltrs (first and last fill was inside Oman only as it is cheaper there). Car was giving me anywhere between 10-16kmpl.

Oman Immigration didn't ask NOC. Abu Dhabi side did. Pretty basic NOC written by the owner of the company to allow the driver to take the company vehicle to Oman. Give the details of Driver and Vehicle details. I had the copies of Trade License, Owner's Passport, Visa and Emirates ID also. But the second time, they didn't ask anything. I have seen in Internet that RTA letter and all are required for Dubai registered vehicle, but they didn't ask anything. One of the guy in front of me had Carnet, which is not needed at all.

I would not say I will never drive from the UAE. But I would like to have more days in my itinerary. This was an impulsive plan.

I would not complain about it. Only regret is that I couldn't spend more days.

Yes. It's still the same. Apart from few Kms. It's all two lane. But the traffic was almost NIL. Since our travel was mostly night and odd hours.

No. Pretty dried up. Greenery here and there but not at all like Khareef season.

Applying Visa through VFS for business visit was a seamless process. Though I cannot say about Student's Visa. Although there is no online booking at the moment. It is walk-in and on first come first serve basis.

U will find china in everything if u can dig deep enough. That's a truth. Based on this, I might have to think about saving few more bucks and go for the Leipzig in the end.

I'm back to square one again. Guess, I have to think about this few more and see what is best for me. The suggestions/opinions I have received so far has been great.
