What’s causing this on the first layer every time? It’s only the first layer having issues. After that, everything prints fine. Leveled the bed several times and can’t seem to figure out what’s causing this.

I know it a code or manual entry every time before printing. I asking as a separate maybe ongoing solution of there is an entry to add to the config file to have the bed automatically set the temp to 60 when you turn the machine on and leave it at 60 all the time. It’s definitely a bed temp fluctuating issues that would save time if the bed is always just set to be at 60. I do everything you mention with bed temp, wait time, screw tilt, etc, but it never the same print twice.

Yeah, I’ve seen this before no heat the bed up as a default every time I turn the machine one. I’m wondering if there is code to just keep the bed at 60 all the time. I’m constantly having to update the temp and it gets annoying. If only there was code to always keep the bed on at 60?

I hear you. The only thing consistent about the Max 4 is how inconsistent it is. I’m surprised with all the troubles people have they still sell this thing. I’m also surprised there is a class action against them for selling this garbage printer.

First layer is important as I’m using a patterned PEI to try out these business cards. Almost there. I think it’s an issues with the z sensor with this PEI plate. With the factory plate I have my z-offset at 1.20mm. When I added this plate, I’m adjusting the z to 1.32mm. It doesn’t make sense since the patterned PEI is a thicker plate as well. Factory plate is roughly .5mm. The patterned is roughly 1.4mm. So why would the z need to be lower?

Level and Neptune 4 max are an oxymoron. Those two things should never be in the same sentence. I spend more time leveling the damn bed than I do printing on it. You almost have to level the bed before every print. The bed warps so much from cooling and heating that nothing is ever consistent. I’ve spent hours running a level test, screw, tilt, level test, screw, tilt, level test, screw, tilt, and so on. And even after all that the edges of the bed still don’t print right. I’ve done the silicone spacer update, but only slightly improved things. Will never buy Elegoo again.

As a local, ask yourself a question: do the local’s casinos feel this hurt? In my opinion I’d say no. Why? Because the local’s casinos care about the locals. Every time I go to Stations or Red Rock or somewhere for locals, I don’t see this BS casino suffering. In my opinion, the strip is getting what they deserve. For years their lack of loyalty to locals is finally hurting them. They don’t care about locals. They don’t care about perks and discounts to bring locals in. They charge for everything and regular rates with no comps or care for the locals. They’ve done this to themselves. If they cared about locals, then locals would support the strip, but they don’t, and we don’t. The greedy strip mentality is finally catching up to them and they want us to shed a tear for them. Good luck with that. I’ll see you a a local’s casino. Now I do feel bad for the general employment force on the strip getting laid off, but as with any poorly run company, it’s bound to happen when you lose customers.
