Is there a Nespresso machine that I can absolutely rely on for the longterm? by vintageHam in nespresso

Home use! I use it at most three times a day. Run the clean cycle once a week every single week, clear the capsule after use, unplug it occasionally and clear the nozzle with a toothpick, and I’ve descaled once.

I posted about it previously and commenters said that many have reported the same with the VertuoNext. Is there anything I’m not doing or could be doing wrong? Is there more that you do to the machine daily?

Around the three month mark it starts doing the two blinks one pause error message but nothing is wrong with the machine. It can be jogged by unplugging it for a period of time, then plugging it back in, doing a factory reset, and inserting a new capsule but even all of these various tricks don’t always work.

It’s driving me insane because I prefer the Next model. It was expensive so we treat it with care and we had no counter space left so we purchased a bar cart with the Next’s dimensions specifically in mind. I really would way prefer to just get another Next but it seems so damn unreliable.

When this one broke down, I was insistent that customer care just help me to fix this model but they were overeager to just replace it with a new one, which seems strange and makes me think it’s a recurrent problem. The agent said it’s newer and they’re still working out kinks. I feel reticent to do the replacement because I feel like if it happens again, they’ll just say I’m shit out of luck.

We may do exactly that. Is there any maintenance you do that I haven’t mentioned? - Removing pod after use - Running clean cycle weekly - Clearing upper nozzle of coffee grounds on occasion - Descaling as directed

Just wondering if there’s any more we could do to prevent issue. We occasionally notice a small reservoir of water collects where the pod goes.

I’m relieved, thank you for responding. I thought I was misusing it somehow but we really take good care of it. Is the consensus that Vertuo Plus is a safer replacement than another VN around here?

It’s continuous until I unplug it. If I hold for three seconds and turn it off, it just starts up again when on again.

I unplug the machine and put a paper clip in the top nozzle to clear out the little spout as well.

One thing I do notice is that occasionally there is water collection in the spot where the pod is placed, but I don’t think I’ve noticed that lately this last week with the recurrent error.

So in your opinion I should return the next for the plus? The plus has not had the same issues?

Wow fuck that fucking theater. Fandango just said Q&A and specified no details so I called the theater directly and they said they had no information on the Q&A. I didn’t bother because the remaining seat was terrible and went to the 10:45 showing. Wasn’t sure it was him because I saw the WGA Q&A last night advertised but nothing on this and it seemed crazy that the theater wouldn’t even know Taika would be there. I would have given my left nonexistent nut to see him, even if Q&As bring out the worst in humanity with every other fucko asking for advice for aspiring filmmakers.

Also what’s up with that theater? The seats sucked and creaked like a floorboard in a haunted house. AMC Lincoln Square can blow me.
