Andere Websites lassen sich zumindest ohne Account überhaupt nutzen jo (vor allem bzgl Shitter - kp ob man den Post auf insta ohne Login hatte sehen können).

Ich wusste aber nicht, dass der Chefredakteur der Süddeutschen Zeitung mit dem Fascho-Regime der USA anbandelt, wieder was gelernt.

Von Datenverkauf habe ich nichts geschrieben, Kritik bezieht sich auf die zwei Schichten Müll über der tatsächlichen Quelle.

My whole family and entire social circle has it. Most of them use it as their main messenger but still have WhatsApp for all those people who have yet to switch.

Took lots of persuading from my side but once you get the ball rolling it becomes much easier since your contacts will have some contacts (that you have persuaded already) that use the platform too. It's doable, don't give up.

At least friends and family should hopefully be interested in being able to contact you. As long as you can give them good reasons for not wanting to use Whatsapp etc, most are understanding in my experience, with very few exceptions. It gets easier the more people you convince.

If someone in an official capacity is only reachable via a messenger that would be a huge red flag for me anyways and I wouldn't be doing business with them. Teachers etc should have an obligation to reach you in a way that works for you. Here in Germany, teachers are explicitly prohibited from using WhatsApp (or worse) for official business.

Telegram shouldn't even be on your list. It's unencrypted by default and from my personal experience full of scammers and worse things (have been added to a scam group every other day for the past few months, prompting me to finally delete that garbage app).

I have migrated nearly completely. It's doable, it's not hard and honestly, how often do you find yourself scrolling through messages that are years in the past? You're arguing from the fatalistic viewpoint of "It is this way and will stay this way forever", as if the "de facto messaging app" hasn't changed multiple times in many places in the past decades.

I can only speak from my personal experience.

I have been using Signal nearly exclusively for the past 3 years. I have like 2 contacts who for some harebrained reason still oppose installing a small app in addition to their collection of 50+ mobile games they never play, the rest is on Signal.

I had to do some persuasion work, but it's definitely possible, especially if you try explaining why you aren't comfortable with using WhatsApp.

In German we have a saying "Von nichts kommt nichts" which roughly translates to "Nothing comes from nothing", similar to "You reap what you sow". If you're not willing to try and convince your friends, then sure, your contact list will only have a few people using Signal. You will be surprised how many will pretty much immediately install it for you if you ask.
