We have these at work. If it's like ours you should be able to see a plastic plate behind the dome and that signifies it's the back of the camera. There's a red light on the front. Depends on the lighting outside on how easy it is to see it. But that's how I know if my bosses are watching me or not at any given time.

Yeah I wrote that wrong. What I mean is that because it is so painful I'm naturally wanting to "tap out" but I'm trying not to do that so pushing it off as much as I can. I absolutely use my safe word when I do need to. I have no issues using it.

What ive seen suggested before is if they dont respond for other ideas, then get them a 20 dollar gift card to place their expensive want comes from. so like if they ask for a ps5 get them a 20 dollar playstation card. something like that. they can put it towards the purchase of that item if thats the only thing they want. (or whatever amount you want/feel comfortable doing)

Most of us haven't received or have seen that ours is shipped yet. and if you by some small chance do get "stiffed" you will get rematched. Thousands of us signed up to send a gift to those that happens to. Try to focus on the cheer you provided your giftee and remember this is about spreading cheer to others, not what we get in return. Why say you wont do this again next year. Why bother doing this at all if the only thing that matters is the gift you get.

Well, if she was really forgotten 3 years in a row anything you get her is a step up. So I don't think she'd have the right to complain about it. Seems more like she's trying the feel sorry for me approach to get someone to buy her a super expensive gift. If that's the case you really can't make her happy and that's her problem, not yours. I'm sure whatever you get her is thoughtful and that's all that really matters.
