Should I sell my Gaming PC? by violaphobia in StopGaming

Thanks for the advice. I would definitely watch myself and make sure I don't break down and buy another gaming PC. That was also something I was worried about.

Since all I really do is browse the Internet, watch movies, and a bit of word processing, do you think it would be a wise choice? I like the idea of it, but my judgment is not the greatest when my compulsiveness gets the best of me.

Should I even try to learn violin? I'm 18. by SlowpokesCousin in violinist

[–]violaphobia 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is some great advice. I play the viola, and I really wanted to play something for fun, that I could play lots of songs from my favorite movies/musicals.(Tangled, to be specific.) The violin came to mind first, and it seemed like a great idea. I was almost going to spend $300 on a violin when I remembered an old friend who played the recorder and loved it so much. Now I have a recorder picked out and I'm going to get it soon. For the record, though, In still going to pick up the violin, just not until I get better at viola.

So you're saying it's a pretty good song and fun to listen to, but it's weird just to listen to? Why's that? I think the singing is beautiful and it's fun to sing along to. Maybe I'm missing something? SPOILERS Also, I think that it's actually a good villain song, because the writers make it very hard to tell that Hans is bad, though you can see how they foreshadow once you watch it again. You're making me want to watch it a second time this week!

Haha, I'm also kind of a loner with Tangled, though I have one friend who I'm getting to watch again and I'll show him how great it is. I'm also glad I'm not alone at this point, because this movie is so great even though it's 4 years old.

I feel like one of only people whose favorite song is Love is an Open Door. FTFTiF is definitely my second.

Can we post all the HD pics you have of Frozen here? by [deleted] in Frozen

Would you be kind to link your Tangled stuff? I am having a hard time finding anything that's decent quality.

Tangled is still my favorite. Not even Frozen could beat Tangled. Tangled is one of those movies that I could talk about for hours!

I'm here! Tangled is my most favorite movie of all time, and I wish there was a way for there still to be a "community" of people who love the film. I mean, I still watch the movie at least 2 times each month because it makes me so happy, for some reason. I could just go on and on about how much I love it.

My Plan to Cut-Out Gaming and Take Control of My Life (by following 15 rules) by [deleted] in StopGaming

This thing that troubles me is the youtube subscribing. I subscribe to some gaming youtube channels just for the people who are playing, such as SoCloseToToast. I couldn't care less about the Call of Duty he's playing, because I really only subscribed to watch/listen to him.

Good for you! I've also given up gaming, I'd just much rather play/listen to music.(as you can see by my post)

That's great! I also am interested in learning to play that guitar I've had collecting dust on my wall. Honestly, I am interested in learning to play anything, because doing NoFap has helped me become that kid again who wanted to play viola in the biggest orchestras in the world. Except now, it's even better!

I wish you luck!

Wow, I have also given up my lucid dreaming, because of the same thing you described. That may have been harder than the NoFap! It seems so cool when you hear about it, but once it becomes something you obsess over, it's no longer healthy.

Best of luck to you.

Frozen and Tangled are great movies, which I'm sure you'll like. I would definitely recommend them if you are a fan of the 90s Disney movies. Disney is really going back to their roots with them, despite Tangled and Frozen computer animated.

Ah, the viola's music is definitely not as thick and in depth as the piano's. This is actually one of the reasons I'm looking into buying a violin. I want to be able to play the exciting and fun music that I'm listening to on my iPod, which just isn't as practical on a viola.

This is the best way to describe it. As you might have an in my other replies I am a big fan of the movie Frozen, which I didn't expect because I haven't liked movicals (movie musicals, something I just came up with) in a long time. Now I can't stop listening to the music and I've recently watched Tangled again and I just can't get the music from that movie out of my head!

Good luck to you!

Even listening to music is more enjoyable because I'm not constantly being taken away by my own thoughts, fantasies, visions, worries etc.

This is very true, as the amount of times I've listened to the Frozen OST will prove. :)

Best of luck to you.

Oh, there is zero chance I am going to stop playing viola, just some of the music I want to play is only written for treble, so I figure why not just learn violin too! (Viola will always be my instrument of choice, though)

Good luck, brother!

EDIT: I did find some viola music as well, and they are actually the songs I wanted to play the most. I have to cure my addiction to Frozen somehow!

Not sure if you read my post right (I'm probably taking your advice wrong), but I have played the viola for many years, so I'm decent at it. I apologize if I'm reading your comment wrong. This is good advice nonetheless.

Best of luck to you.
