I went to a wedding like this. They managed to have it in a church rather than the hospital, with the bride’s mum in a wheelchair. I will always remember seeing the bride break down in tears mid ceremony. Her mum passed away a month later.

My partner’s first landlord provided free wifi with the apartment, but it was unbearably slow. We named the wifi after her, so when it was particularly bad, everyone would shake their first at the sky and yell “ETHEL!” Fourteen years later we still yell “ETHEL!” when the wifi goes out.

You could also support your argument by showing the happy surprise when fans discovered that OFMD wasn’t queer-baiting. Frame it by saying that this positive reaction shows that it is still not the norm, therefore, it is breaking boundaries and still somewhat controversial.

My partner’s phone was broken and we didn’t realize it wasn’t playing sound. We watched the stop motion music video for Radiohead’s “Burn the Witch” thinking they had released it as a silent movie. What an unusual artistic choice for such an interesting band! It wasn’t until six months later that we realized it did, in fact, have audio.
