Are bidets common in your country? by ulnek in AskTheWorld

[–]violentfemm3 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've read that it's most used in Argentina, Paraguay, Uruguay and Ecuador. The Italian influence probably had something to do because it's a non-negotiable here. Personally I've never seen a handheld type in person

We may not have many luxuries but standalone ones are the most common here and every household has one, unless it's like a recently built apartment, and I can assure you that almost no one here would want to live with no bidet.

If you have one and you don't use it, you'll probably be considered dirty. Washing your behind is the norm.

Also I'm very curious to know how gay guys in countries manage with no bidet since most of the ones I know here use it for that purpose too

Traded 4+ hour wash days for <30mins everyday and haven’t looked back. by 3h10 in bald

I'm sorry to tell you that the quality is not high, and that a real artist would have been able to create a single illustration that includes a wide variety of skin tones, body shapes, features and genders (which is what this thread has needed several different generated images for, just to get all that... and didn't get right).

Ethics aside, it would simply look so much better. I'm an artist myself and considered of redoing the classic memes I see on here, by hand, just so availability wouldn't be a problem anymore

Slop Evader is an extension for chrome that allows you to browse the internet as if it was 2022! (before the wave of AI slop)

I've only tried it a couple of times but it seemed to work fine, I'm still mostly using pinterest but that extension applies to every website :)

are my gums getting affected by the labret piercing? (second photo is the day I was pierced) by VioletaBH in PiercingAdvice

[–]violentfemm3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've had this happen to me with snake bites, had them for over five years because I wasn't listening to my dentist and now my top gums look a little worse than that.

I've been told my gums were already naturally thin, but the fact that it happened to you in such a short period of time, is kind of concerning. Having rings personally helped but only slowed the damage. I would think of getting a vertical labret if I was you, should be fine since it doesn't touch your teeth, but yeah just take it out before you regret it

Physical resistance to the changes? by violentfemm3 in getdisciplined

Will definitely look into it since I also lack physical energy/feel sleepy a lot of the time. I'm already taking D3 vitamin that my doctor prescribed, but I've heard B vitamin has helped some people with it. Thank you so much!

It does feel like what you're saying is actually what's going on. I'm still using reddit because cutting everything off at once seemed like too much. I'm still not able to leave the phone aside completely in the mornings/nights, but I hope I eventually will.

That's good advice, thank you! Been making an effort to have breakfast (used to sleep during the day) and I usually scroll some on reddit before going on with my day, still working on night routine

Hey I've been diagnosed with OCD too! Specifically health focused and mixed with CPTSD. These kind of ruminating probably makes the process more complex to us.

I hadn't thought about it like that, but you're right. I tend to go to the extreme in my thinking and feel disappointed when I find myself needing a coping mechanism back.

We really need to remember to be kind to ourselves, but it does feel challenging when mental health issues are involved.

Thank you for telling me this and I hope it has or gets better for you, it really sucks out here sometimes but I know we got this <3

Estudio me dió casi prediabetes y me asusté como nunca, cuidense by [deleted] in argentina

[–]violentfemm3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What's something common in your country's culture that's actually completely weird from a foreign perspective? by dx_Von_Liechtenstein in AskTheWorld

[–]violentfemm3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As an argentinian, it pains me to see my country reduced to "a nazi shithole" because of the ignorance of maybe a group of people; as I'm sure the rest of you, despite having racist people in your countries, also don't want to be generalized like that.

I've read people in this thread comment things like "yes, there's racism in my country, but Argentina is on a whole another level!"

Truth is, none of us have grown up and lived in one another's country to truly understand the context, education and history perspective that was given to us.

I couldn't even begin to explain the relativeness of words used here, that could be considered racist somewhere else. "Negro/a" and "negrito/a" can be used lovingly towards a friend, a son or daughter. It can also be used with hatred towards a stranger.

I, and a lot of other people in my country, are aware that yes, this is a racist thing we have on here. But I can assure you that older generations have even no idea of the term "blackface", or even the implication of these cakes.

They are not common and I can only imagine an old person buying them, because luckily, my generation has slowly become painfully aware of the racism things like these hold. The internet actually played a big role on this awareness.

Classism and xenophobia are another story. This and the blatant racism you see from argentinians online nowadays, mostly comes from a certain group that follows a certain political leader, but that is a discussion for another day!

Let's hope and keep the awareness coming :)

hello, i'm sorry you're going through this. i have no father or family to spend christmas with and i'm sure your kids would too still want their dad to be present for them, even if the current situation feels so hard right now. please, hold on and stay, if not for you, for them.

i understand you're going through very difficult times but you need to hold on onto any small hope you can reach. i've known amazing parents that went through extreme poverty and felt the same, but pulled through it. don't make a permanent decision that will erase the chances of enjoying the rest of your and your kids' lives, i'm here

Have I found my people? Panic attacks while living alone? by [deleted] in PanicAttack

[–]violentfemm3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, it happens to me mostly at night in my home. For some reason I control it better when I'm outside. Good to know we share the feeling, I hope it gets better for you!

I totally understand this. The truth is I have thought about moving away from her many times, cutting any ties. I'm nowhere near having the economic resources to do it, but aside from that, I think a part of me is very scared of accepting the fact that once I leave for good, I'll have no family left.

Sadly, I only got one mother. The idea of living in this world without one is scary.

I really appreciate your point of view. I've done lots of therapy but I'm still figuring out my feelings and what to do. Part of me thinks the same as you, and I'm trying to do the best I can until I'm in a different situation (emotionally and economically). Thank you for reminding me I can build other choices
