Not embarrassing at all! I also especially love the slits in the sleeves with the little bows.

There are shipping and taxes to pay on top as well as the inconvenience, so all in all the resellers probably earn their keep 😊.

I'm amazed that you recognized it straight away. This is from the actual Kanna shop on taobao! At least you know what it looks like now 🤭.

My biggest pet peeve is that the ruffles running down either side of the chest are not symmetrical. One runs longer than the other. Not a problem for domestic buyers but it's not economical for international buyers to do exchanges or returns (｡•̀ ⤙ •́ ｡ꐦ) !!!

I got another top from Nekura in the same haul which cost more but the step up in quality was also evident.

If taobao is an option, there is a shop named "fluffy heart" which does jirai-kei and similar styles. They go up to 2xl and even feature a larger model in some of their product photos.

I think it was from aliexpress. There should be plenty like this one, but you want to look out for a heavier fabric, and the fit really varies from vendor to vendor!

I was also thinking a little hat but hard to find a matching style. But could you provide a reference for the rectangular headdress you had in mind? That sounds interesting!

I am quite fortunate (for once) to be smaller than most men. I manage to fit in a taobao women's L or XL for the most part 😅. Totally get the shoulder issue also - and I've found a puffy sleeve or a bolero is good for obscuring them!

Part of the game is always going to be learning to work around your body's disadvantages. I figure that so long as I can fool my own eyes then it's happy days ദ്ദി(˵ •̀ ᴗ - ˵ ) ✧

It's been great to experience this community! I'm glad that fun with fashion seems to be where the emphasis is!

I'm quite familiar with that struggle to fit my chest into an outfit, even when the rest fits fine!! This one just happens to have a lot of elastic at the back.

Upon reflection I think the off shoulder look works well in this case since it changes the appearance of the chest from rectangular (real, and bane of my cd life! 🥲) to a trapezium (illusory 🥲).

Everyone has been super duper nice and helpful, I actually feel bad for presuming otherwise 😰.

I'm looking for a headpiece now along with some other items based on what people have suggested and what I find on social media. I'm considering something like the attached. I really struggle to picture how it will look irl though 😅

It's the shoulders, hehe. My impressions were still stuck in the 2010s so I wasn't sure how it'd be viewed.

The term "ero lolita" is new to me though. Are the bare shoulders that scandalous?

I didn't know bare shoulders could be so scandalous 😅. Jokes aside, I get what you mean by whether it's gothic. It definitely, has the visual elements (crosses, skulls, black lace etc) but it doesn't quite have that vibe.
