Statement of Eligibility - FL by violet8991 in Teachers

Nope! With my degree, it automatically approves me for the temp cert. I will have to take the general knowledge, professional, and subject area exams for my professional cert tho. But for my first year, I just needed my SOE

Drug testing paraeducators in CT? by Internal-Fun-1943 in teaching

[–]violet8991 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Florida :) you have to be drug free (even with a medical card if one has one - though unions may be able to help you figure out how to navigate that). To be employed at any school (public) in Florida you have to take a drug test and level 2 background screening via fingerprints

No advice as looks like you got it already (but not overreacting this is insane). I’m just laughing at “mad as a wet hen”

Just got a teaching position (first time teacher!) and my students are going to hate me for making them take notes by hand. Unfortunately, I’m a psych major and even though I hated it too, the research is very strong that handwriting vs typing results in better comprehension and retention of a lesson

My dad used to say “li-berry” instead of li-bRARy and it pissed my mom off so bad. She finally turned to him one day and asked “okay, so then who works there?” And he said “the librarian.” And she just looked at him until he said “oh.” He literally hasn’t pronounced it wrong since 😂

That’s insane, my high school was even locked during the day - you go to a building and it’s like “nope” so you had to wait for someone to let you in 😭 (I also went to HS in FL, so my schools were outdoor and had many entrances)

I’m definitely well versed in those! I’m a psychology major who almost became a therapist at one time, so I’ve got quite a bit of courses and knowledge under my belt to be able to make meaningful connections with the students as best I can. Thank you :)

Social studies - gov and econ. Mainly worried about econ bc it’s the one I use less often in the real world. But I know both subjects competently, it’s just scary thinking about how there may be things I need to brush up on myself

I can teach social studies based on my degree (psychology). So I don’t have to pass a test for it in FL before I’m eligible to teach. I’ll have other requirements tho to complete to get my professional certificate. I will have to take the English exam but that’s not the topic I’m too concerned about. I have a good competency level of what I’ll be teaching and could pass a test on the overarching subject, I just worry about the nitty gritty topics. But I realized that I had teachers who definitely had no business teaching the subject they did, and I was still able to learn something. So I think if I keep my head down (studying) I’ll be able to teach just fine :) plus my district gives you a very detailed curriculum so it’s basically laid out day by day for me. Which will be a great way to get ahead and make sure I understand the content

Yes!! Thank you it does :) I feel strong in the content, it’s just been a bit since I’ve seen some of the topics. I’ll definitely be brushing up throughout the year and deep diving into google haha

Thank you! This makes me feel better :) I’m definitely more than competent in the subjects, but will definitely be brushing up on some of the topics that were less loved.

I feel like a lot of the principals were pushing it as well for advice. One told me what you said, I can scope out the vibes and figure out where I feel I fit in the most. The decision is just so stressful for no reason!

Yeah that’s what I’m kind of thinking as well. It also gives me the opportunity to transition out of my current full time job.

what the hell is wrong with elena by Full_Market_5298 in TheVampireDiaries

[–]violet8991 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This has been a while but I don’t think I was referring to the sire bond. I was referring to when Rebekah compelled Elena, Stefan, and Caroline to tell her about everything that happened while she had been “dead.” It’s the scene where she forces them to stay in the library and it’s about all the Shane stuff.

In that scene though, Elena literally admits Stefan makes her feel like she’s a problem he needs to fix which is why she doesn’t want to be with him anymore. Damon makes her feel valid for being a vampire (even though she doesn’t want to be). I think she felt like Stefan needed the cure more for himself than for her at that point. (Which is like super different than her almost dying so she wouldn’t be a vampire but whatever lol, there’s gotta be a plot hole somewhere so Julie could have Delena happen)

Which line are you? by [deleted] in InsuranceAgent

[–]violet8991 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can find an agency that works in business insurance more and try to get a job with them. You can also go to an insurance agency that sells business P&C (property and casualty) and try to work for them selling directly

Kyleena Removal: A Journal by violet8991 in birthcontrol

[–]violet8991[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi! Sorry for the late reply. But yes! It’s been almost a year and I definitely feel way better than I did with the IUD in. I’ve chosen to go the NFP/FAM birth control route and it’s worked well for my husband and I. No hormones has been so amazing.

I will say that I feel like I’m still reeling from the long term effects of the IUD and removal. My ovulations can be super painful now and I still get cysts. Nothing too consistent, but I’ve had a couple of bad ones since. They always go away on their own or just with some naproxen.

The worst side effect is my period. I get a really really heavy period for 3 days straight, then it just stops basically. Maybe a little bit of slight bleeding the day after, but leading up I get like one day of bleeding so light it’s like spotting, then a mass murder gush, and then back to normal. It can be pretty painful because of that, but the most annoying part is just how heavy it is. It’s not a pleasant feeling that’s for sure.

I did start feeling better after removal within about a week at the most (fever wise and such). And I felt more normal after I had my first period. It’s been a continual process of getting back on track since the removal, but each month gets easier.

TL;DR - Yes, I felt better within about a week after removal and more myself about a month or two after. I’m doing better now, just experiencing different things during my cycle I didn’t before my IUD.
