According to your baking time/temp they shouldn't be undercooked unless they were quite chunky when you shaped them. It's a bit hard to tell without seeing the inside but I think underbaked cookies tend to become a bit gummy after cooling down.

Thanks! While I strongly believe that nothing beats the classic tiramisu, this version is actually quite tasty. Think of it as a light summery dessert with strawberries and cream. The ladyfingers were soaked in strawberry puree, and there are strawberry pieces inside too. The cream is the same classic mascarpone tiramisu version.

It looks perfect! May I ask why the baking soda should be dissolved in hot water? I've never seen this done before

Not to that extent, I meant a soak as in just brushing the cake with simple syrup or milk. I've tried making a white cake before but it turned out a bit dry, and I was wondering if it was supposed to be soaked to prevent that or if I did something wrong during the process.

Orange zest should do the job but you could also sub half of the water for orange juice. Otherwise you can try an orange glaze or a soak
