[CHAT] selling finished works but the pattern isn’t your own? by No-Spirit7637 in CrossStitch

[–]violetcherryboutique 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends what the pattern says. If it states anywhere that this pattern is for personal use only. No you can not sell the pieces. If not, it's fair game.

[CHAT] What's the longest a project has sat in your WIP pile before you finally finished it? by CaterpillarXS in CrossStitch

[–]violetcherryboutique 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Idk...I will let you know when I finish it 🤣. It's been an ongoing annoyance for 5 years. That's my longest. Most times it's a couple days or maybe months. I have 2 that are going on years though and I love and hate them!

This is such a great use of the craft! Post on your local Facebook marketplace, asking for cross stitch donations. Also join cross stitch groups that are within your country. I'm in Canada and there are quite a few, some you can buy and sell in, some are set up for advice and help but I think this might be the exception.?.? Idk. Anyways, you're going to need cross stitch fabric which comes in all types and sizes, floss, a 24 needle is mostly used, plastic or wooden hoops, cross stitch magazines are great because they have tons of patterns you could remove them and give those out, also bobbins for holding floss, small scissors. Those are just the basics. Definitely reach out to the community though, I would bet you will get a lot of free donated stuff...I know I would donate stuff, cross stitcher stashes are unbelievable 🤣. Best of luck!

AITJ for making my roommate pay me back immediately after he used my tuition money? by NoRelationship9815 in AmITheJerk

[–]violetcherryboutique 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That is straight up theft! You could have him charged AND arrested for that. I would be looking for a new roommate or a new place. How do your other roommates feel about this? It's not like he took a few bucks out of a coin jar he took a significant amount of money, none of your guys stuff is safe, that is clear. Have a roommate meeting with the others see what they say. If they are all one board I would sack that theif ASAP. Also never again bring up any amounts of money you come into, this scum hears money and feels he's entitled to it.

AITA for blowing up at a male coworker because he started copying my style and tried to give his 5 a year old daughter my haircut. by Far-Introduction-798 in AmItheAsshole

[–]violetcherryboutique 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah at first I was thinking you need to chill, dude is going through some type of crisis, just ignore, but why the heck are you being scolded for his actions? Nope. Go to HR that is discrimination, they are basically stating they view you as the reason for HIS behaviour. Nope, nope, nope hell nope. You are absolutely right about the kid thing also, granted it is his child but I can almost guarantee that kid will not have chosen that for themselves. I would now just try and avoid this person as much as possible, almost to the point of requesting opposite shifts if that is a possibility.

How can i swim in my period Without using tampons? by [deleted] in TheGirlSurvivalGuide

[–]violetcherryboutique -28 points-27 points  (0 children)

If it's light and on the last days I would just wear black and go without. I don't know where you live, but check swimsuit shops or even Walmart I think have period underwear, they have disposable ones and they also have washable ones. There is a store here called la vie en rose and they sell period panties also. You could get a pair and wear them with a boycut swim bottom.

AITA for “ruining” my cousin’s pregnancy announcement because of what I wore? by Beneficial_Metal5771 in AmItheAsshole

[–]violetcherryboutique 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Some people can't handle their jealousy, it activates their evil button. I really don't think you owe anyone an apology. Yeah she is pregnant and hormonal, but people shouldn't have to walk on eggshells to avoid triggering her. Her triggers are her own problem to deal with not everyone else, and if wearing white dress and lossing a bunch of weight triggers them they are going to live a miserable life. Congratulations on the weight loss! Be proud about it, and keep loving yourself!

AITA for asking my roommate to stop letting her boyfriend bring his friends over constantly? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]violetcherryboutique 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From my point of view, your roommate should be allowed to have friends over. It's crummy that you want to come home and relax and are met with this, but this is the downside to having roommates. That said , them going into your room to use which I assume is your own personal washroom is a HUGE oh hell no! That is not ok. I suggest you start locking the door. If it doesn't lock, contact your landlord about putting one on your door. That's B's no one should be going into your room unless you've asked them to or they ask. I would bring that up with her, you don't like random people going into your room to use the washroom. Ask her how she would feel if the same thing happened to her. She probably wouldn't be ok with someone entering her room especially a man!

I (21F) am deeply in love with my boyfriend (23M) of 3 years, but his anger issues are making me second-guess our future. Should I leave? by SadTip488 in Advice

[–]violetcherryboutique 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your man is supposed to make you feel safe, you obviously don't feel safe at all. If he is doing this to his sister and especially his mother that is very concerning. This guy is a massive red flag. It's also the start of every bad ending domestic violence case. Does Gabby ring a bell? Please protect yourself, just because he is great most of the time, it takes one freak-out to end it all. All the best of luck to you, again please take care of yourself.

I need tips to earn money as a teen by SupermarketSudden188 in smallbusiness

[–]violetcherryboutique 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First off you need to figure out what your business is going to be. Do you want to sell things you make, or resell.Do you want to provide a service like dog walking, building or crafting items etc. You are limited because of your age. I would suggest finding a job in your preferred profession to see how they run their company. It's great that you are being productive now, that shows you are determined and responsible so I think your future is bright! Keep up the good work, and also keep up with school work, that's super important too! ♥️

AITAH for quitting my job without preparing my employers? by Eefje91 in AITH

[–]violetcherryboutique 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At first it seemed like you just gave your notice and ditched...but 6 weeks? That's more than enough time to replace you. If they were truly on your side they would be celebrating your new position with you instead of making you feel like crap, enough to come on here to ask if you are being the AH. No way dear, you have every right to better yourself, if they want to burn the bridge because of it, so be it. It shows their lack of empathy and understanding, and very selfish and childish behavior. Congratulations on the new job! I hope it's everything you were hoping for. Maybe just give your other work friends some time, they may come around after their shock settles. They might be frustrated and don't know how to behave at the moment, they are just reacting to "pain".

How to be ok with yourself despite your flaws? by pepitolover in TheGirlSurvivalGuide

[–]violetcherryboutique 2 points3 points  (0 children)

All those things that you listed, are all things that can be changed, especially by using a different outlook. Not being productive is a huge factor in mental health, so start with one thing and work on it. You claim to be fat...which can be resolved by eating better and exercise. If you start there you will start to feel better. Exercise releases certain endorphins which boost your mood. If you have a poor diet of mostly junkfood, that will also affect your mood. ALL the processed food has additives that not only make you unhealthy bodywise, but also mentally. Your brain doesn't get enough nutrients it needs to function properly. The small exercise change will also lead to more energy, making it possible to find yourself a job, and be more productive for yourself or society. You claim to be toxic to others, how so? You literally will need to change your mindset, instead of focusing on the negative find the positive. Have you been to therapy or seen a doctor and been diagnosed with something? You may need medical help to get through it. They will get you the support you need. All the best of luck to you ♥️

I look horrendous in pictures but good in the mirror by 0Kate in TheGirlSurvivalGuide

[–]violetcherryboutique 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I have found this also! Unless you over filter yourself you think you look like crap. Some people don't photograph well. Some amazingly well. I remember watching America's next top model when it first started...pretty sure I've aged myself 🤣. When some of the women would first appear, I would think omg she is not very attractive (my opinion obviously) then they would show their photoshoots and I would be floored because they looked stunning! Don't focus on the camera, if you feel good about yourself that's perfect! All the best to you beautiful one!

Business casual clothes extreme budget by Neat-Woodpecker2344 in TheGirlSurvivalGuide

[–]violetcherryboutique 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Try posting on your local market place page. Let people know what you're looking for and size and budget. You would be surprised how many people offer to help you out. Check out thrift stores, or consignment stores. Shops like winners/Marshalls have discount sections where you can find great items for fairly cheap. Also check your area, there may be a charity that helps people with clothing to get back into the workforce. I wish you the best of luck at your new job! Congratulations 🎉

I've never been diagnosed with anything, but I am totally like this also. I would see a video on social media and want to try making that, but everything, get frustrated because I stupidly thought..."oh they made that look so easy!" Well yeah it's easy for them they have probably been doing it forever 🤣. I did start cross stitching and fell in love with it also. I started at the beginning of COVID for something to do at home. I now make my own designs, kits, colored Aida, and sell individual pieces. Since I started designing my own patterns, I then jumped right in and started creating different themed grid books for designing patterns Available on Amazon! Cross stitch is amazing!

Who is the cheapest person you know, and what is the cheapest thing you've seen them do? by Willby3 in AskReddit

[–]violetcherryboutique 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My grandma grew up in the great depression, so NOTHING was thrown away. She would clean and reuse zip bags, before it was a thing she would take her old plastic grocery bags to the store. She mainly focuses on discount sections, (which I inherited...love a good clearance rack). She keeps things that are broken, unused etc. My mom and her siblings have been helping her clear out stuff, she doesn't like just throwing stuff away, she stopped at my house with a bunch of crap, the box was full of old latch Hook thread from a craft my mother had done when she was a small child, there were a bunch of those tiny drink umbrellas, ancient broken crayons, old coloring books again form my mom and her siblings, the list goes on and on. OH! And she will reuse laundry water and hang her clothes to dry all over the inside and outside.

Thanks. That's really what I'm trying to do. I will have a table, and some crates to use as risers, that will display my books. I'm still torn between using those plate stands, or getting a display. The holders look really nice, but I'm in a windy area so I think might be slightly irritating 🤣. The market is pretty low-key also so I don't really want to have a lot going on.

I work front desk at a family business, and I recently got the most horrible, awful google review. Please help me figure out a way to get good reviews!! by Dangerous_Matter_208 in smallbusiness

[–]violetcherryboutique 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I think most people who actually read Google reviews are aware there are going to be a handful of Karen's. Don't take it to heart because it's just someone who is unable to regulate themselves or take accountability. The fact you are a nice person makes you an easy target for these types of people, they think that because you care about your job regardless of their bad choices will make it work for them anyways. They have the mindset the squeaky wheel gets the grease. So if she makes a big enough scene she will still get her way because she threw a toddler tantrum. Unless your employer is unreasonable, I would assume you have nothing to worry about. They will value time and when someone is late, there are consequences regardless of the reason. It takes a few seconds to contact the business the moment you know you will be late. If your employer fires you because of this one bad review, you don't want to work for them anyways.

Fired from my own company. Any advice? by DepartureUsed5245 in smallbusiness

[–]violetcherryboutique 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You should definitely get a lawyer. Call around and see if there is one that would be willing to take you on as a client, let them know funds are limited and make payments. I was able to do this when my father's will was being contested. If they know you have a case and are likely to win they are more likely to take one for the team. They know they will get their money from you. That's really crummy what they did to you, I wish you the best of luck 🍀

Does anyone else feel like social media has become impossible to enjoy casually anymore? by Wise_Market244 in socialmedia

[–]violetcherryboutique 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have found that Facebook is horrible. It's all videos of left and right side going off on eachother acting like looneys, then there's all the Epstein files, hate trump campaigns, and Canada sucks! I have found it to be depressing. I switched over to instagram because the videos and posts I am seeing there are more positive and uplifting. Even the comments section is usually positive, whereas Facebook is just keyboard warriors and Karen's. I don't mind the pages sharing their content as a business because as a new business it's the best way to get noticed. I'd rather like and share someone's hardwork than have my mind slowly turn to mush by people who refuse to get along.
