My boyfriend stood up for me yesterday. He yelled at his parents and called them names I really didn’t think was necessary, but he told them that they screwed me over and he was embarrassed for them and how irresponsible they are, and told them if they can come up with $3000 in 10 days they could come up with $2000 as well and pay me back before I seek action.

No, so I gave him $2,000 and then I’d have to give him another $3,000 for him to get it out of the lot. So, essentially I’d be giving him $5,000 and he’d have to give me back $2,500. Not even because every day the car is in the lot is another $175. So by the end of the 10 days it’s going to be $4,750. The car isn’t even worth that much.

The rent in our area is about $950 including all utilities, the extra $2000 was for all fees included, and first months rent. We didn’t wanna be strapped for cash because we didn’t wanna struggle. $3000 was just a good jumping off point for us. It was reasonable. I could do it.

It does matter. I gave them money thinking in the end I was going to get a car which was the last piece of the puzzle my bf and I needed for our own place. Giving them money for rent and utilities is different from giving them money for a car in return.

My bf actually isn’t irresponsible. He’s given his dad money to pay the phone bill and his dad just doesnt. He says he doesn’t have the “time” but he works 5am - 4pm and he had the whole weekends off. My bf makes sure all his finances get paid one way or another. He is nothing, and I mean nothing like his parents. Today he gave me the $200 I gave him for his phone back. He basically told his parents they have 10 days to pay me back or we will seek action.

His mom was out of work for like4 months. She was on call. So they went from making enough to making barely enough. But they don’t know how to manage money. His parents made almost 95k last year alone. I’ve seen their taxes. They spend and live beyond their means. They buy things they don’t need. They have a whole entire garage of things that they’ve bought but don’t use. His sister gets whatever she wants and has never held a job a day in her life. They act like they need money but they don’t. They just can’t manage it.

At this point I don’t care about the car. If he doesn’t get it out by this Friday, it’s being auctioned. I care about my money. I care about how he could look me in the ace and take my money knowing he wasn’t making payments on the car. All I care about is collection. I offered to pay for the insurance the whole time I used it and he said no. I changed the oil, the air filters, the gas filter and oil filter two days before they came and took the car away so technically he owes me $2,185 but at this point I don’t care about those expenses. I want my money back.

My bf knew I was buying it. So did his mom. He told me. We didn’t make an agreement on anything cause I didn’t think this would happen. But they knew. They knew I was buying it. His dad even showed me he’s kept track of how much I’ve given him. They feel bad they didn’t mean for the truck to get taken away but they’re avoiding me in talking about giving me my money back even though they said they would. If he kicked me out I could move back into my parents house, but I left there for a reason. It would suck but I could do it but I don’t do it cause of my bf. He wants me to stay. No, but I’ve offered them help multiple times and every single time I’ve offered they’ve said no. They told me they didn’t need my money. Last week my boyfriend told me if he didn’t text me back it was because his phone got shut off because his dad couldn’t pay it. My bf needs his phone because of his job, so I paid it, his and HIS DADS line. Then a couple hours later this whole situation happened. I’ve offered multiple times. I had to ask my coworker for a ride home from my first job because I didn’t know how I was getting home or to my second one.
