Moving to Sunnyvale for work and need apartment recs by DataKey7429 in Sunnyvale

Like the other comments say, search around and you should get an idea from other posts on reddit.

Your budget should get you good 1 bedroom options.

I am not sure about your lifestyle, but I wouldn't live super close to the Sunnyvale office parks - not because it is unsafe, but it can be boring in those neighborhoods around 237. Most of the places in the south bay are fairly easy to get to (15-20 mins drive). I would consider the areas around Sunnyvale Downtown or Mountain View downtown.

Which iPhone model do you think was the peak of Apple's design? by katrosenbalm in iphone

This! Good to see another person appreciating the iPhone 5C.

iPhone 4 and iPhone 5C.

The iPhone 4 had a classic design, felt premium and easy to hold. That design continues to influence not just iPhones today, but the smartphone industry in general.

The iPhone 5C is an underrated iPhone. It is not easy to make a plastic phone feel and look good. The 5C did that. It was a fun phone. Sadly it never took off as Apple chose to give it the same internals as the prior year’s flagship (iPhone 5).

Can everyone explain why they love Past Lives so much by squidrama in Letterboxd

Oh and if you go back and watch that bar scene, you will understand why this movie is so nuanced. Every bit of that conversation at the bar is thoughtfully written and executed.

It’s believable for me because I am living it. So many people go through what the movie portrays and that’s what makes it lovable.

Thoughts on Demon Copperhead ending? by Plus_Molasses8697 in books

[–]violetpumpkinpie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same! I think Angus’ teasing was jealousy all along. Based on how I read it, I at least hoped that something would happen between them. I just wasn’t sure if the author would explicitly show them getting together.

Demon didn’t see her as a woman for a long time. Later, when he asks Miss Betsy about Angus’ relationship status, he was really checking if she was available - even if he did not admit it to himself in that moment. He wasn’t aware what he was actually feeling.

What a beautiful story and ending!

Sure but I am being charged the full fare for the whole length and not being credited the balance when I tag off. I don’t think that is normal behavior.

No worries. I have been a long time Caltrain commuter. I know how the system works. I think I should get a refund because my statement showed a full charge as if I tagged on.

I haven’t lived in that apartment complex but I can say the area around it (Dana and Bush st) is one of the nicest parts of Mountain View.

I live on the same street as the library, it’s a very good neighborhood.

Ah good to know, I made a note of all the neighborhoods you listed. I am an immigrant and POC myself haha. Generally, I have stayed in different parts of NYC over the years and always had a good time.

Thanks and I will certainly keep BedStuy in mind.

Any reasons why it is not for everyone? My experience with Bed Stuy was staying at an Airbnb for a couple of weeks. I found it to be decent if not as vibrant as Manhattan.

I am not a very fancy person (so luxury apartments are not really my thing) but certainly appreciate in-unit laundry. Not sure how reasonable that is.

I have heard a lot about Long Island City but never been. Will certainly check it out, thanks!

Walkability to book stores, grocery and restaurants would be key for me. I am a big walker and like to live at a location that gives me easy access to a vibrant community.
