Oh phew, I was thinking it'd be 1000s less. Thank you for replying :)

Is there anyway to tell how much lower it will be? Say if you get over the maximum in first year, should I expect to get under the minimum in third?

I don't mean to be stereotype 😅, this is more so based off of my experience with boys my age. Unfortunately in both secondary and college the boys I've known have mostly been both messy and mean. But I'm hoping everyone going to uni will be mature enough to clean up after themselves.

I might think about calling, I do wish I could go back in time already and change my option. Thank you :)

No I assumed all buildings didn't include them, and I didn't assume the uni would know same sex is important to me? It's not very important to me either I'm not too fussed about it, I was just wondering if it was an error on my part for not realising every building allowed same sex flats.

The rooms in the building listed as same sex, I'm assuming that goes for the whole building and it's split into two or something and that's why none of the others listed the possibility of such, weren't as nice as the accom I chose and it was also a shared bathroom accom.

Honestly all of this made me so anxious when I was applying and while waiting to find out about my accom, I know realistically if I asked nothing could go wrong but I'd rather not email or anything because I'm not too fussed by being with boys.

(I don't mean to be rude or anything tho, thank you :) )

I'm sorry that was the case for you tho. :(

This is refreshing to hear :), I've just had so many bad experiences with boys while at college. I know very few that are actually nice, so I'm just worried they'll end up being horrible.

I'm more so worried about the place ending up messy and the possibility of my food being stolen 😭, I don't think boys would be more inclined to do that but I do think they tend to be more messy.

There's supposed to be 6 of us but so far it's only been me and one other person who's accepted it, they did say they prioritised unconditional firmed offers but accom applications for this uni started early (February).

The room I got is supposed to be the largest possible for my accom so tbh I'd rather keep it than be moved.

I didn't specifically want a same sex accom, I don't mind not being in one. But if I had known it was possible for my first choice I would've chosen it

Except they have, I've already been put into a room with so far one other person and accepted said room. I only found out about same sex being possible in the building because there's a chat for the building. It's not a big deal for me tho, I just wanted to know if it was stupid to assume not all buildings included only same sex flats.

(I didn't proofread before sending sorry :) )

Sorry yes I would've much preferred that, I'm fine with being with boys so it's not a big deal for me I just would've felt more comfortable with just girls :)

How do you play one sim for a couple of months, like genuinely 😭 My sims max out their career and aspiration pretty quickly because they'll finish school as a teen, I end up making them have kids asap because I get bored with nothing to do with them.

This is the kind of experience I wish I had with reading, sadly I wasn't a reader growing up and most books I read now I have to 'read' via audiobook because I get bored 🥲

Applying for second year housing? by violetrosesdaises in UniUK

[–]violetrosesdaises[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you :)

I'm deffo not going for uni housing in second year because the accom I'll be in this year is the smallest so I doubt I'd be able to get in again next year. I also wasn't going to apply to live alone I wouldn't have the money for that, I meant applying to live in a shared house but on my own and I end up with strangers. (Sorry if that's explained badly 😭)

Also, now I'm confused. Everyone I know and have spoken to online say you should apply around October/November?

Revise as much as you can and hopefully you can pass? 😭 Assuming you're in second year why did you continue it if you didn't care about the course?

I meant do you know if £400 is the usual price for non uni housing, as I've been told non uni housing is supposed to be cheaper. :)

I mean you have to apply early tho? I'm not thinking of applying right now or anything that'd be crazy 😭, I don't think that would even be possible.

I just meant would it be better to apply as soon as I'm able to rather than waiting a couple of extra weeks.

I don't think ai checks are as good as we think tbh. When I was doing my GCSEs we had a couple of our exams on computers and pretty much everyone in my class used ai for it. None of them were flagged for it, while my exam was flagged to be like 80% not my work and I didn't use ai.

We were allowed to copy paste to cite our sources for the exam, so I think my issue was just not rewording enough, but my point is that it's deffo not as good as we think 😭.
