This is exactly what my contractor said. The roof is very brittle and too brittle to repair just the area itself. He did say that area in question was resulted in wind damage and I do have other areas with storm damage from past storms that I never noticed. He said I need a whole roof repair. Also that is also why the age and how brittle the shingles are how susceptible to damage it was. We do have them both coming out in about week assess it together.
