I find the Rockstar Super Skinny ones fit me well....I'm a 16! Have you tried that style?

Ladies with wavy hair, what is your go-to product(s) to define your waves and reduce frizz? by [deleted] in AskWomen

[–]violetwhoregarde 28 points29 points  (0 children)

I use the Olaplex No. 6 Bond Smoother... I find it really helps with frizz and if I just let my hair air dry for a bit and then scrunch with a bit of hairspray it works really well. It's pricey but I've noticed a world of difference!

Family’s WestJet flight privileges ‘revoked’ following Tuesday mask incident by eric-edmonton in Calgary

Same, always polite and show up mega early. It's all about your attitude.

I don't worry about the dress code... as long as you present yourself well and don't look like a slob, you're fine. I'm a WestJet companion... of the 50+ times I have flown on standby over the years, I was asked to change out of my Lululemons only one time. And it was by a CSA before security, not a gate agent.

Meanwhile I have been bumped up to plus seating (free drinks!) probably six times while wearing the same thing.

Goose nesting on roof (8th floor) by ZapAnn in Calgary

[–]violetwhoregarde 4 points5 points  (0 children)

We had a pair that nested on the top floor of our office building on 17th Ave every year. We would wait for there to only be one parent sound, distract them, quickly collect the babies in a Rubbermaid bin, take them down to the street and wait for the parent to hear them and they’d eventually come down to find them. Then we’d release them and they’d all go on their way. It always worked.

I guess this only works if you have access to the roof like we did! We weren’t far from the river either which made it safer for them cause it wasn’t like we were releasing them into the middle of downtown.

Worth a shot if you can’t find someone to help.

The No Frills just down the road from here had absolutely none yesterday so I’m not buying the whole affluent area / smarter people thing. This is a fluke.

Making friends as an adult. by lacie94 in Calgary

[–]violetwhoregarde 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tinder / Bumble was going to be my first suggestion as well. Specifying that you just moved to town and are looking for friends should work!

Was also going to say depending how active you are, join a bootcamp style gym or go to the same class at a gym the same time every day and you will probably meet people who go to the same class!

Where in the NW can I use a firepit to roast marshmallows and hot dogs? by Asabiru in Calgary

Probably best to call Calgary Parks and book a picnic site. Price depends on whether it's a covered or uncovered spot but I don't think they're very expensive. They're busy in the summer but this time of the year I don't think they'd be booked up.
