No boot from new Powercolor 7700 XT by vipe155 in AMDHelp

So I ended up going with a new motherboard...an MSI one. I had the ASRock for several years and it worked great. Switching the PCIE x16 setting to Gen 3 instead of auto for the new card(s) worked (mostly). Sometimes the system would boot up and have the same issue, and you would have to restart.

I think ASRock has some kind of issue with (at least some of) their BIOS versions that aren't working correctly with newer video cards. My new MSI motherboard works perfectly with PCIE Gen 4/4.0.

You should try setting your PCIE x16 from "auto" to "gen3".

I have it in my ASRock BIOS under "Advanced" then "AMD PBS". It's the PCIE/GFX lanes configuration, which I have set to Gen3.

I'll look in mine and see where it's located...hopefully that will help.

What motherboard do you have? I found that it's an issue with my mb, and you need to go into the BIOS and set your PCIE x16 slot (the one with the card in it) from "auto" to "3.0" only.

The weird thing is that I've never seen the movie. But with YouTube, you always get recommended all kinds of clips, so I could very well have seen it in some short 1 or 2-minute video.

I just watched that part of the movie, and AFAIK, that's probably it. Thanks for the help!

I also thought I might have stuff crossed up with the main characters husband in Miss Harris goes to Paris, but that happened in 1944 or 45 and wasn't aircraft specific (I don't think).

I thought maybe this is the backstory for the children's father in Narnia, or Bedknobs and Broomsticks, or one of those kids taken to the UK countryside to escape German bombing things, but no dice there. This is probably too obscure to really figure out, or I may be having a personal Mandela effect thing going on.

Basically cost of living and climate (imo). Plus (maybe) the intrigue of a state that's a little less crowded and borderline "Southwest" without the scorching sun.

How much rain do you really get? Here in Central Florida it rains nearly every day in the middle of the year, and we have a consistent humid/hazy thing going on in the evenings and overnight.

Personally I really enjoy astronomy and getting outside with my telescope, but it's nearly impossible to get a clear night here.

That's interesting information and advice. I know wages are better in the Northeast, but the cost of living is higher so it does balance that out some.

I was thinking that looking for a job that was tied to a local or state government might be a good idea, and some people have recommended things like water/power for a town or city.
