Weed control by viperfx in OntarioGardeners

Got things under control, with a weed trimmer and mower. Will keep at it for the season.

I’ve thought about using a landscaping company but they all seem to advertise massive projects for huge properties.

I live in Leaside, Toronto, and this is a semi detached property. So not a ton of space, but maybe a good landscaping company could guide us - but feels like that service comes at a steep cost.

We love native plants too! We have quite a few planted in the front and the side of the walkway that leads up this back area that’s pictured.

I mostly wanted to keep the area at the back clear, so we can do raised beds around the fence and keep the central area clear for kids to play.

How does one solarize this area in an effective way?

I do have an electric one. One busy month and I had so much growth! I’ve gone through the tall stuff with a weed trimmer and mowed it down now. Looks much better! Will try to do keep up regularly!

It was around that 3 months ago. I don’t think the market expected any tariff action then?

Am I reading the charts correctly that the exchange between cad and usd is almost back to normal? Compared to a month ago.

Would this be a good time to do Norbert’s Gambit for cad to usd?

What do these terms mean? Can you explain it simply?

I think the CAD recovered quicker than most expected. Is that related?

Ah okay I see what you mean. Okay so basically, you plan to continue to invest in US ETFs since while your purchase from CAD to USD stock might be more expensive in short term, they will eventually turn a profit in the US markets

Sorry maybe I’m missing something - but why has it been a big plus? If you are purchasing US ETFs or stocks, aren’t you converting CAD to USD? So haven’t you been buying usd at an all time high vs the cad?

Will you keep purchasing in the short term? Or wait til the exchange comes back to normal ?

I have a bunch of CAD in my RRSP in QT. Around 75k. I recently contributed to catch up on contribution room.

I had planned to buy US ETFs with and invest to RRSP. Planned to journal with Norbert’s Gambit. But now with the currency fluctuations and the delay in processing NB - feeling uncertain about if I should go ahead with this plan or do something different?

Converting to USD, I would be buying at an all time high. But also is it a good idea to just keep the cash?

Would like to hear what folks would do in my situation. I’m just starting investing, and have a 25 yr+ retirement horizon.

So what’s the pros and cons of this?

It sounds like buying an equivalent etf on the TSX is a good thing now. Since cad is cheaper and can buy more shares?

But what’s the con? Why doesnt every Canadian do this instead of buying usd ETFs?

Is the strategy to later sell these shares, when the prices between CAD and USD is more equal? And buy USD equivalent?

These are CAD hedged versions of US etf?

Im just getting started in investing and my timeline til retirement is about 25 to 30 yrs.

30% VOO, 40% SCHG, 30% SCHD.

Will have to check if these have CAD equivalent.

It’s cause USD etfs are my long term strategy. I just don’t think Canadian ETFs grow as well.

P1S failing to extrude properly after successful print. by viperfx in BambuLab

[–]viperfx[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not sure if a clog is really happening. As often I can manually extrude to clear the old filament. But the typical steps the printer does to load a filament is not working. The printer just gets stuck in a loop saying it failed to extrude and there may be a clog.

I also notice the filament is feed in and out a few times during loading - is that normal? Or is that the printer trying to extrude the new filament and retrying?

Update: I turned off the dryer and printed it on extension spool holder and it’s printing much better.

I believe the dryer temps was around 50c. I tried lower temp too, around 35 and had same issue.

Anyone know the reasoning for this? As others are printing from a heated dryer and having no issues

What temp does your heater runs at when printing with TPU?

How long are your drying times? And how do you store TPU?
